Now for some points here :-
Anything is possible with the wankas @ EROS... Some rumors are going abt that EROS doesnt have a DVD right here in North America ( oh i wish this was true...). Now given that scenario EROS would be well off releasing a pirate of the DVD ( going by their standards ).... I wont be surprised at all.
EROS doesnt lose money in anyway even if they release a pirate DVD. The ppl who lose money are the sub-distributors who buy the film screening rights from EROS ( as these folks have to pay EROS before they get the film prints for screening).. So you see its a win-win situation for EROS ! ( lil wonder they are the b***** No. 1's of the Hindi film industry)

the pirate is definatly eros...why would a pirate copy have 20 mins eros promotion??

Has anyone emailed Eros asking for a explanation of this? Not that we will get any satisfactory replies but I am just curious to hear what they would say. :rolleyes:

sknath, where did you hear the rumor about EROS not having rights in North America? I so hope that is true so we have the chance of getting a decent dvd. Have you watched the movie yet? It looks like I will be able to go this weekend.

Yup i already saw it last Saturday (Jul 13) and of cos The film was not that awesome as others are pointing out ( as I know the story) but what appealed to me in the film were the dialogues and dance numbers

The people who are PRO devdas and ANTI eros, are all who have seen the film, on BIG-SCREEN!(make a note).

People who are ANTI devdas9make a note) here, are who ? have not seen the film! in its full GALORE and just want to BEHAVE THAT WAY!

I think their opinion does not matter! much indeed!

As S. K. Nath said, a show ticket cost is not worth much to, what u will see! experience, namely: THOSE ALL DANCE NUMBERS, DIOLOGUES ,AWESOME MUSIC, including BACKGROUND! Here some screen shots taken from the Devdas pirate DVD floating around everywhere. I actually saw copies being sold in shops in Bradford - has the same Devdas cover art as Curtain Raiser DVD with all the usual Eros logos. DVD video is correct aspect ratio is around 2:1 – but is incorrectly framed about 1.70:1 – giving that long faced look.

by the way the one i saw was 2.35 widescreen 2 songs were missing and the whole picture was alot darker !!!

but ur screenshots of the pirate are alot better !!!

Could someone tell me if the Devdas pirate DVD has been spoted in the US or is it only circulating in England right now???
