I just got a hold of the rental DVD copy of Humraaz by EROS. And as I was watching the previews before the film began, I discovered that Sridevi's first home production Shakti The Power will also be an Eros Presentation(btw, the film looks really powerful). Another thing I discovered is that, the DVD was also promoting Om Jai Jagadish as an Eros Presentation. But wasn't this film suppose to be made as a Video Sound Presentation??

I'm unsure who’s releasing OJJ DVD now - it's still on Video Sound homepage and it's advertised on Eros DVDs!

Shakti is the first film by Krishna Vamsi who is considered by many as the best (but reclusive) director in telugu after RGV's exit. This is a remake of his own film 'Antahpuram'. Rumor has that he reshot the whole film(Shakti) again since he was not happy at the way the film turned up (poor producers :))

It is a powerful story but too violent by most standards

That is very strange, because, firstly, GVI normally hold the UK rights gor Videosound DVDS, and if Eros did have the UK rights, why would they advertise it on a US released DVD (Humraaz hasn't been released on DVD in the UK officially yet).

Either way, looks like we might be getting two shit DVDs instead of one............I can see it now

Om Jai Jagadish (VideoSound) - Special 5 DVD set
Disc 1 - movie - cropped and non-anamorphic transfer
Disc 2 - Best Of Khans
Disc 3 - Promo CD of Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar
Disc 4 - Full CD of Kehtaa Hai Dill Baar Baar
Disc 5 - VCD with trailers of forthcoming VS releases

Eros version will have 'bonus' making of feature and interviews with the stars :baaa:  :where:

:gob: Jag you sure its Anthapuram..and man I must say Anthapuram was really a violent film...I have the DVd with me and I wonder how our teeny-weeny folks who are used to mollycoodles of YRF films can actually digest such gore and violence which is very realitsic in nature ?

Wow Shakti The Power a remake of the film Anthapuram? Man the Hindi film folks are finally gonna see violence at its most strongest. Unless the director has cleaned it up for the Northern Indian censor board or for a wider audience.

Don't like the Hindi casting though, except for nana patekar and SRK, the others might not have the might to pull of such a screenplay.

sknath, yes it is antahpuram for sure. I read Krishna Vamsi's interview about it. And also it was mentioned in another interview with Sonali.

Off the topic Krishna Vamsi is smitten by Sonali. So he is making a hindi film with Sonali. Also his latest telugu films both have Sonali (Murari - one of my fav movies in recent times and Khadgam - which is being made now)

I am not against all those YRF films I enjoy them too. But while they (YRF films) are nice and enjoyable to watch, they dont leave you contented after watching them like any of the films by good directors like RGV, Manirathnam. By the way I used to enjoy most movies directed by Yash Chopra pre Dil To Pagal Hain.

Okay SRK is gonna essay the role enacted by Jagapati Babu (and it will be a cameo)... and boy o boy does he not meet a gory end !!!! Literally slashed with knives !
Nana Patekar plays the role of the ageing patriach who wants to save his grandson !

BTW who is essaying the role of Soundarya ?
Can the Hindi audience identify with such a local theme as Rayalseema politics ?
