There is a second release of Ajnabee DVD;

..which supposedly is subtitled and contains some extras. I've not seen it myself so can't say for sure it's a dual disc or not - probably is as this was the format of Eros releases while back.

i actually have it and its pretty good. The first disc is the movie itself - probably the same as the first edition but with english subs this time around. The video and audio are the same. I actually liked the video of this (if you read the originaly thread) but many of you didn't. I thought it is much better than some of the more recent Spark releases. The audio is very lively and dynamic, especially during the songs. The subs are ok for the most part but it's too bad that the songs are not subtitled.

The second disc has some decent interviews, but not totalling more than 30-40 mins at max. Of course the interviews (with the cast, the producers and possibly the directors) are filled with film footage that looks much better than the actual film itself. The 2nd disc also has MANY trailers from the film including the long trailer and the numerous tv musical spots. There could also be some trailers from other movies but I can't remember for sure. And thats about it - no behind the scenes or anything like that!

It's a decent release if you like the movie, and is definately the version to get.

sorry for being late arshbhai, but urban legend is right, the packaging is kinda blue and it doesn't say 2-disc on the actual package! However there is a sticker (stuck on the front of the cover itself, not the keepcase) that says "double disc inclusive of extra footage and english subtitles".

Actually, at the bottom of the front cover it DOES state "bonus DVD containing special features".

What is the catalogue number?? On the back of the first disc, the numbers are unclear because it looks like they've been printed over another set of writing. Kind of like letters on top of letters. On the back of the second disc the letters are clearly visible.

However on both discs, it says "DVD-E-515". On the second disc it says "DVD-E-515/A". And on the holographic Eros Sticker on the back of the package it states "DVD-E-515".

Hey Arsh,

Ajnabee 2 Disc does have subtitles. Quality looks the same to me as teh single disc version.

AKS, I bought the pirate which was a ditto copy of the original single disc version and was $10 Canadian cheaper.

Although I have not watched many EROS disks on big screen, I believe it is one of the better looking disks if not the best by EROS standards. If I pick one and only EROS disk, I will pick this one. Although this is not as sharp as it should be, colors are ok and shadow details are also average and I thought sound is also good.

Ganti have you seen Gupt done by ERO$/B4U? I am pretty sure you'll change your mind. This one is far more superior than the ERO$/DEI version. Original aspect ratio (non-anamorphic) and excellent 5.1 :D DEI was also good but was cropped and images looked a bit fat, good 5.1 though. Sadly the ERO$/B4U one is the only one that was better than DEI.

I have the EROS/B4U version of Gupt, which was one of my earlier purchases. And I think although Gupt has excellent sound and good colors and average sharpness it does not keep up the PQ when blown up to the big screen. Well as I don’t have the Ajnabee disk on hand I can’t do side by side comparison but if my memory serves me correct I believe Ajnabee is a better looking disk.

Please note: I am not comparing this to the majority of DEI disks, which are far superior

Hi Ganti.
EROS-B4U version of GUPT is reported (zulm old threads) to be better than the EROS-DEI version. As, DEI version is progressive and the EROS-B4U, most likely, is interlaced, I suspect that EROS -DEI version will give a better picture on progressive equip like yours. For the interlaced equip, perhaps, EROS-B4U is better??

If you ever get your hands on the EROS-DEI version (I have this version), I will be intrested in knowing the picture comparison for progressive equip.

Thanks.

Rana
