Bhatts’ Raaz 3 based on Ameesha-Vikram affair
3 August 2012

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who had depicted his affair with Sushmita Sen in Ankahee (2006), will now portray his relationship with actor Ameesha Patel in his next film, Raaz 3. Buzz is that he has based Bipasha Basu’s character on Ameesha, who he split from in 2008.

Mahesh Bhatt who is producing the film, recently said that it is a cocktail of three stories, including Vikram’s. “She (Vikram’s girlfriend) used to manipulate him to enhance her career,” he said. When we asked if he was referring to Ameesha Patel, he said, Yes.”

A friend of Ameesha, however, says that this is baseless. “She is too busy to comment on this. Ameesha was a star when she met Vikram.” When we quizzed Vikram on this, he said, “When she met me she was a star, when we parted ways, she was not.”

'Raaz 3' Has Strong Opening
8 September 2012

'Raaz 3' opened took a excellent opening in mass areas and good in multiplexes. The film should put up strong numbers over the weekend and if multiplexes can improve then the film may have a good run for 2-3 weeks.

'Raaz 3' Emerges Huge Success
9 September 2012

Raaz 3 has emerged a huge success as collections on Saturday were better than Friday and Sunday should see a very big jump.

The all India collections on Saturday did not show a huge jump but the key was that centres that did not do so well on Friday showed big jumps and and this is normally a sign of a super hit film as now there seems appreciation across the board.

Some of the 2D screens at multiplexes which were not that good on Friday jumped 30-40% on Saturday and in general the multiplexes which did not open big on Friday showed good improvement. The single screens which were huge on Friday were down but this is always the case when the opening is at such a high level.

The all India jump should be around 10% and collections will come in at around 11 crore nett adding to the 10.25 crore nett on Friday and 50 lakhs nett in paid previews on Thursday. The film will do weekend business of around 35 crore nett including paid previews.

'Raaz 3' Takes Horror Genre To Another Level
14 September 2012

Raaz 3 has taken the horror genre to another level as it clocked up a huge 55 crore nett first week and is sure to cross the 75 crore nett mark considering the weekdays were rock steady and the only noticeable drop came on Thursday.

The only other time that the horror genre has succeeded in such a way was ten years back when the first part of Raaz garnered a 15-16 crore distributor share but that success was on back of the super hit music which was a craze at that time.

The horror genre is a good bet for non star cast films but its tough for it to put up big numbers as a large chunk of the audience does not go for horror films.

Prior to Raaz 3 no horror film had even touched the 30 crore nett mark and this film is looking to cross 75 crore nett which is phenomenal for the genre.

The all India distributor share of Raaz 3 will easily be higher than films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Cocktail and Rockstar despite it being a smaller film.

It was pretty enjoyable and trashily fun. Bipasha was delightfully evil as Shanaya, dressed in black, a gothic milf chick from hell.
There's no Bollywood horror lovers on any internet forum it seems, so i guess there's no interest in this here, but still:

There was some cool 3 D effects also, as The Bug Attack on Esha Gupta's Sanjana. Credit to her great screaming here, otherwise the acting is so so.
Bipasha blowing smoke rings at you was nice too. That evil clown was scary too - i hate clowns.
There's one reason why i love Bollywood thrillers and horrors, even though they rarely are scary and that's because the actors attack their roles with an enthusiasm that smittens.
Bipasha here seemingly delights in her role with a joyful glee.
I love plumpy actresses with curves, so i have an idea of how Vikram Bhatt could've used the lovely Bipasha's assets in 3 D, but then i guess i'm the only pervert here.

Watching Vikram's stuff is a roller coaster ride, from disaster like Dangerous Ishhq to enjoyable slick stuff like this
