I am sinned and broke. I have placed an order for the 6-pack song DVD by videosound for $29.99(little over the price of one YRF dvd). I never brought any thing by videosound except Gadar and Nayak and both of them
looked ok on my big screen compared to the YRF and EROS crap. I mean they are not good by any means but nevertheless don’t make you fell like you are watching it from a screen door.
Well I want to buy some good movies but without knowing the quality I can’t buy them. My local video store is so pathetic that they can find replicated discs even for videosound discs, probably they are better for the rental purpose as they use better media than videosound?
So I hope and believe this dvd pack will give me the much needed insight in to the movie dvd’s I want to buy.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Come on guy’s don’t you watch any song DVd’s? The Dvd’s in the pack are Hit Songs Vol 1, 2,3,6,7 and Bye Bye 2001

Ganti its a cardinal sin to purchase anything with the VIDEOSOUND label ( else you would have purchased the DVD of FIZA...and not waited for the SPARK-DEI version !)

If I have to rank them from worst to best I will start with YSF, EROS, VIDEOSOUND and DEI? (DEI also going down by using worst kind of media these days so that freezes the Player even in the first run compared to the Videosound disks, as they apparently holds for couple of runs)

Video Sound has great films in their inventory. Because of quality concerns, I have only 3 or 4 of their Film DVDs, out of which one is a Songs DVD. I don't want to waste money on that quality of Film DVDs, but a 6 or 7 pack Song DVD set for aprox $30 ($ 50 Cdn) seems O.K. to me if the quality is the same or better than their Film DVDs. I assume, in this pack we get all, or most, of the songs from all of their Films.

So, ganti, could you please let us know on the content and quality in this set.

First of all the packing for the set is a unique 6 holder case designed specially for this pack and looks like Microsoft’s MSDN kind of packing but with cheap plastic.
Super Digital authorizes these first 3 disks. And just like any other videosound production in this dvd’s also source problems abundant, incorrectly framed and cropped interlaced video. Decent colors but lacks the real DVD sharpness and detail. The aspect ratio ranges from 1.90 to 1.33. Strangely some of the songs are in 1.66.
My receiver does not recognize the first 2 disks as Dolby Digital and it picks up the pro logic 2.

I don’t have Power dvd to capture the screen shots and I am expecting to get a copy of power dvd with in short time.

Overall if you like the songs it is ok to have them for the price as you can watch them even on big screen.

Some how I found it bearable compared to the DTPH and EROS songs crap.
I will rate them at 5 compared to the Mission Bollywod, which stands at 8 in the scale of 1 to 10.
In comparison EROS Songs
1) Century Khans Dhamaka : 0.5 PQ and sound both
2) Naye Nagma Vol 6 : 1.0 PQ and sound both
3) Album of Taal, Chal Mere Bhai, Had Kar Di Apne, Gang : 0.5 PQ is worst but the sound is good.

I will let you know about the rest of the Disks that are not authorized by super digital.

Ganti can u tell us what songs the other 3 discs contain ?

Ganti, I am waiting for info, on the remaining 3 in the set, as well before I order them. Even if you recall only a few songs or have any comments, please let us know. I want to order this set tonight.

BTW: I am sure you would like to know this. Metrodome ASOKA DVD played on my PC. Perhaps it has no region coding. This was the best picture (and of course audio too) I have ever seen from any Indian Film DVD.

Although I have watched them 2 weeks ago I can’t comment on the quality. Some of them better and some of them worse than first 3 disks.

Thanks Ganti for the quick info on VS-6 Pack Songs. I appreciate the extra effort you put in. Sorry, I couldn’t reply earlier. I didn’t have easy access to Internet for the last week and a half. When I got a chance, I quickly added my enq. and asked my friend to phone me the info. that you posted.

sknath has already suggested a cheap source for Metrodome ASOKA DVD. In my case, it costed (not to me) about 3 times the price mentioned on play.com. The reason: I asked my brother in law to buy me this DVD if he can get it for £12 max. He paid over £18 plus shipping. But I have no regrets; the DVD is worth every penny that was spent on it.
