Just saw RGV's latest movie "Not a love Story" recently. I must say it left me stunned. The performances (especially that of Mahie Gill's), the character insights, the fine storytelling, the open ending climax and the fact that RGV never took a particular stand on a movie based on a real life incident, makes this movie extraordinary. The loud background music was a letdown though. I quite liked the voyeuristic camera angles and the never-resting camera approach taken by RGV.

For a movie shot in just 20 days, the outcome is extraordinary. Certainly worth a single viewing. My highest recommendation possible...

Many thanks for the tip. It sounds interesting. I've been much disappointed with RGV's output since his classic gangster eposes almost 10 years ago, but
saw a change with his here-on-this-forum-and-everywhere-else-not spoken about Rakht Charitra. That one was so intense it was interesting
Mahie Gill. Very fine actress, nice in a small role in Kashyaps sadly ignored modern masterpiece Gulaal.

I also liked Rakhta Charitra quite a bit(More so part 1 than 2), and I also agree that it's the best thing Ramu's done since Company. Haven't had the chance to see "Not a Love Story" yet.

WOW! I've seen it now and what can one say but ....... Ram Gopal Varma IS BACK. Anurag Kashyap is raving about it on the DVD sleeve
"..... Seems like RGV is back and with a ROAR". So for god's sake don't miss this film, and it's worth more than one viewing Charolastra.

The actor's in this were FANTASTIC - Deepak Dobriyal and Mahie Gill as the lovers. The screen crackles with electricity, with the
chemistry between them. RGV's camera swirls around them and almost probes into their faces to catch their anxiety. Her apartment, Anushas.
something from a claustrophobic hell.
I haven't seen Mahie Gill much, sorry, maybe only in Gulaal (but she were great and charismatic there as Kay Kays failed actress mistress) but
she's a MIRACLE here and Deepak Dobriyal is a world class film actor (has anyone seen him in Gulaal or Shaurya?).
RGV keeps this tight and controlled all the way and i'm so surprised and happy that he could be this good again. Yes, his music are ear-deafening
as always and it's not really needed here, but hey that's RGV and still, this is the best since Company i'm sure,

so WELCOME BACK Mr. Varma and thanks for the film. Anyone interested in great Bollywood.... no, great indian filmmaking - don't miss this gem.

For me this is the best indian film i've seen (OK, it has been mostly hindi ones) the year 2011, even better than Shor in the City
if there's any justice in this world....or in Mumbai at least, any.... Mahie Gill should get a best actress reward for this
