Ali - don't think soundtrack is out just yet, but the whole cast were at the India-SA match yesterday to 'launch the title track' - is there anywhere these people won't go to promote a film?!?!

As for the film, I'm looking forward to this, as it's written by Shridhar Raghavan, so hopefully should be good.

I saw Dum Maaro Dum promo of the title song. It's so bad, I'm surprised that they are using it instead of hiding it.

The 'Bluffmaster' soundtrack was outstanding and this one is most definately not even a patch on that. As for the title song, don't even get me started on that one. This version is an embarassment to the classic 'Dum Maaro Dum' by R.D. Burman and Asha Bhonsle. To make matters worse, the idiots involved in cooking up this crap, actually have the nerve to state that their version has turned out to be actually superior to the original classic. Talk about a bunch of arrogant and tasteless morons.

I just finished watching this - and for my money, this is not only Rohan Sippy's best achievement yet, but probably one of the year's best hindi film.

There's something to be admired about a film that attest to limited time and space - and Dum Maaro Dum's Goa-trotting allows for some interesting uses of place in relation to character. Sippy's portrait of Goa is fantastic(here, one wishes this could have been on a better produced DVD other than what Moserbaer trashes out. In which case, we can rule out a superior product on Bluray). But Sippy's accomplishments here are quite evident.

There is a level of conscious acknowledgement of the format that lead to some beautiful results. The festivals, and night bazar's are the most blatant examples of noir lighting - the piercing colours and shadows are Sippy's form of expressionism(colour often replaces the staple shadow in noir technique); visual ques of the film's final moments of frenzy. Not to mention the rave scenes, the lights that luminate into the sky, the towering plam trees and shots of the entire night life from high above.
