Preliminary impression
Good
- original aspect ratio maintained with correctly framed video at 2.40:1, 16x9 enhanced
- reasonably clean source used with minimal blemishes (although they are some stains noticeable on the print - not distracting enough though)
- excellent Dolby Digital 5.1 sound with superb channel separation
- multiple language subtitles including songs
- plentiful extras on the second disc - varied from interesting viewing to the miss-able usual promo material
Bad
- video is somewhat soft lacking DVD quality sharpness and definition
- colour fetidity varies from good to weak and never constant
- dark scenes are badly handled with immense detail missing - bad source/encoding
- trivial compression and noise filtering artefact evident - not surprising as the films is well over three hours longs
- overall not as 'spectacular' as YRF have made out, source print could have been a lot better and resulting video would have been better
