I ordered the previous release from EAGLE :evil:

Just ordered this SHEMAROO one too .. lets see will post shots of the EAGLE tonight and when I get the SHEMAROO one will post those as well.

WEG's DVD release of Akayla — its slightly cropped picture, washed out colors, and all — was actually pretty good (the sound was good, as well). The problem: IT STOPS WORKING AFTER A WHILE (at least, that's what happened with my copy). I just can't get over how much I hate when one of my beloved DVDs dies on me. Say what you will about VHS, but — barring decrease in quality post many viewings — the format seems to have been built to last far better than a lot of these "high-quality DVDs" — :roll: .

I love Akayla; I think it features one of Amitabh Bachchan's best, most neglected performances, and is one of Ramesh Sippy's most under-rated films.

Not a whole better .. colors are decent, picture is more cropped than eagle version. Still interlaced as well.

shemaroo has better contrast too!! If I recall, weg was prog, but mostly rotten!
