this has got to be the VERY BEST AMITABH FILM EVER!!!!

well it's my favourite anyway...

is this print subbed though - i only see one subtitled screen cap above, and the menu does not have a subtitle option.

They are English subtitles although not on songs - selectable from the player remote, no option in the menu.

Audio is 2.0 mono.

This DVD was released sometime ago although I never found it stock with suppliers. All of a sudden revitalised stocks have appeared. If you look at the rim of this disc - it's been replicated by Super Digital

Went to the video store to rent the DVD of Bhoot and saw The Great Gambler (AB movie from 1979) on DVD on the Shemaroo label. Don't know about the quality but this is one of those movies that was very good for its time, it explored a lot of foreign regions while still being very much a good Indian movie and not going overbored. A good movie with AB playing casanova and a cop (double role). Most AB fans forget about this one but it is one good movie

Looks like Shemaroo is releasing a lot of AB movies on their label recently, don't know about the quality but we WERE once promised a lot of AB movie on the DEI (now BEI) label including Mahaan (classic AB), but Shemaroo seems to be jumping on it while BEI was just a rumor...or was it ???

Well folks here you go, the authentic Shemaroo authored & released by version of The Great Gambler. Much better color and print than the previous version.

Thanks to Arsh for these shots

Seems like a definite improvement. Where is the shemaroo version available from? Seen it on IW once but they removed it after a few days!

legend,

the IAVC DVD is also authentic for its time. It was authored by shemaroo. and those days, shemaroo did have this trace of authoring. especially the cheap looking menus.

anyway, i was also wondering if the shemaroo release of the dvd would be any better. great to hear, my money isn't wasted.
