Did anyone...anyone at all, notice that the film had bad acting, poor ADR, and that it made many sweeping statements about Indians and 'westerners'? I hope I don't sound like I'm imposing my views but it was one heck of a lousy movie!

I felt AALC had some-what of a down-to-earth tone in its narrative. Unlike most of Subhash Ghai's recent propagated films about NRIs. AALC atleast depicts that its not all rich & wealth for every NRI that leaves there domestic nation to live aboard. I also believe that AALC did go a bit overboard with its depiction of how all new generation kids act in Western civilization. However, one shouldn't also deny that there was little truth in AALCs depiction of the new generation in Western nations. While it was totally biased, but to be objective, there is some truth to it. And I'm sure the new generation in India could possibly be as bad(if not) worse than the bais of NRIs standard of living.

Ek savaal : KAHAN MILEGA ??

Ye picture itna accha bhi nahin tha magar jab DVD ka print itna accha ho, tho why not? This looks like one of DEI's best releases and its a pirate? Now if only someone can release a better version of 'AUR PYAR HO GAYA', Ash's first hindi film, another underrated classic. By the way, the climax of AALC was not very good. It was like one of those 'family photo' kind of endings that used to happen in every 70s b-grade hindi film. Also I didnt like the artificiality of some things like the very westernized american-born son suddenly being tamed into becoming this symbol of love for his father. like a Karan Johar film. Vaise hindi films reality pe based nahin hain, phir bhi ye picture thoda over the top tha.

Also Akshaye is supposed to be this son from a punjabi village but the second day in America he is completely at home driving his taxi through the streets of the city listening to pop music. I havent yet met one person who isnt disoriented at least for a few days when they first come. And Ash's character too lacks any real development. Its a classic due to some scenes and dialogues, but they could have done soooooooooo much better. Personally I think its one of RK films WORST moments.
