One of JP Dutta's highly underrated movies(and ofcourse HATHYAAR was overrated)....Sunny and Farha's tender scenes are touching to say the least, though Farha was miscast.....Sujata Mehta and Danny truly repulsive (in a fabulous way)....one of the first movies to catch Sunny showing off his pecs....worth a watch most certainly......

Which other J P Dutta movies are worth watching (regardless of whether they have a DVD release or not). I know about his movies from Kshatriya onwards.

GHULAMI(his first) for sure is worth watching.....Ishwar Bidri(cinematographer) captured the arid landscape of Rajasthan truly majestically....i still remember that one shot of the eye of an eagle as it peers into the camera before flying away very well....it had some neat performances by Dharmendra, Naseeruddin Shah & Mithun Chakraborty....his line from the movie 'Koi Shaq?' was the mantra of taporidom for a while then....and ofcourse there is YATEEM(his second), also shot in Rajasthan....HATHYAAR(his third film I believe) begins in Rajasthan and then does a confused round of the Mumbai underworld....though Sunjay Dutt tried valiantly it was a confused portrayal (from the director's point). The normally dependant Rishi Kapoor did not fit into the proceedings and ofcourse Amrita Singh was very irritating and Sangeeta Bijlani totally ignorable.....Dharmendra seemed hopelessly ageing and off-key...it had an interesting premise...but then.....

I had to dig out this ancient VCD of Ghulami which once-upon-time did look quite decent - looking at it again today I hope this never makes it onto DVD in this fashion – released by Bombino – print is severely worn out and audio is in pretty bad shape – if any joker company like ‘Silver Entrainment’ release this on DVD then expect no better print than this;

Naaaa! the screen shots make it look much better than it is - when playing it looks very bad - print is very worn and torn.
