One of my favourite Gulzar written Ghazal...

Din Kuch Aisey Guzarta Hai Koi
Jaisey Ehsaan Utarta Hai Koi
Aaina Dekh Kar Tasal-li Hui
Humko Is Ghar Mein Janta Hai Koi
Paak Gaya Hai Sajar Pe Fal Shayed
Phir Se Patthar Uchaltaa Hai Koi
Der Se Gunj-tte Hain Sannate
Jaisey Humko Pukarta hai Koi

I know what the ghazal mean litterally and would like to share with some non-indians... could anyone kindly translate this in an appealing form...

Phir Se Patthar Uchaltaa Hai Koi
(((as some body is again throwing stones at it)))


Der Se Gunj-tte Hain Sannate
(((( QUITENESS//SILENCE(precise), has been ROARINg for a long time now)))


Jaisey Humko Pukarta hai Koi
((( Just like, the way, some body is CALLING for me( it seems like that)))


Well!! did my BEST!! but original URDU poetry ki BAAT hi kuch aur hai!!

*** GULZAR ko CHAHNA aur URDU zuban ko na jananna!! is like a SIN!!

Awright here goes....a very weak attempt at recapturing Gulzar-saab's brilliant original....


Days, weeks and months pass,
Repaying a lifelong debt, in a trance.
A chance encounter with one's own reflection,
Is reassuring knowledge of another acquaintance,
Perhaps the fruit has ripened in its branch,
That it hath become a target to stones,
The echoes of silence take their time in ringing,
As though someone called out in afterthought.
