Well! Just to sum up, my thoughts on film and dvd!
Film..It is not COMMERCIAL film..period.
so, KEEP this in mind!
It is a WELL CRAFTED..FOLK LORE, PIECE of ART!EPIC!
It is not a MASTER PIECE!But it is DONE VERY WELL!
PLOT, might be CLICHED for an ORDINARY film goer!
JACKIE/Raveena/Prabhu Deva/Nag Arjuna, ..seem to be main characters, But roles of MILIND SOMAN and SONALI KULKARNI has the longest footage!
It does give u an EPIC kinda feeling. But, from WESTERN std done well!
DVD..kinda let down from CINABELLA, after Excellent 16th dec! OVERALL PACKAGE! *** But still BETTER than every body else! Picture is anamorphic and has 3 Dimensional look, but SOFTER transfer! and colors!
Sound..EXcellent ..SOUNDTRACK, back ground and music..BUT Sound is not that dynamic as of ASOKA! some musical pieces in background are simillar to ASOKA!
OVERALL, comparing to a SIMILLAR FILM, ASOKA r2 is a WAy BETTER DVD!
AGNI VARSHA, has EXCELLENT ..CINEMATOGRAPHY, by ANIL MEHTA! and HAS very NATURAL, down to EARTH feel to it,
While, ASOKA..has an EXOTIC feel to it, CINEMATOGRAPHY, CHOREGRAPHY/MUSIc etc!
I kinda liked by EDGE/by taste SANTOSH SAVAN's CINEMAWORK for ASOKA , better! BUT here ANIL MEHTA is NO LESS!!!!!
OVERALL, it is of INTERNATIONAL standard!
Plss, read NYT review printed in INDIATIMES!
