I just got back from my local Indian DVD store and the owner of the store was telling me that his supplier was at the press meeting conference in New York organized by Eros for the pre-Devdas release. And one of the main discussions that was on hand amongst overseas distributors was regarding the Devdas DVD. And the word is that, Eros won't release the original Devdas DVD for atleast 6 months after its theatrical release, and he added that Eros promises to make this DVD extra special

Now I wonder, is this Devdas Curtain Raiser DVD that something extra special from Eros?? :baaa: :stupid: :baaa:

EROS definition for extra special :-

1.) Rotten film used for transfer (interlaced and washed out colors)

2.) getting it authored by Prasad Digital instead of SuperDigital

Folks whatever happened to the US company picking up the American rights for Devdas ?? Any info on that ?

Actually, I've been e-mailing Vivindi Films for the last month, month and a half regarding the Devdas DVD. But not one single reply yet what-so-ever.

Maybe the following explains the lack of replies from Vivendi

"Various rumours and reports are suggesting that troubled Vivendi Universal will merge with a major film studio in the near future. The most obvious choice is DreamWorks because its founders Geffen, Katzenberg and Spielberg know about music, movies, theme parks and TV. They also have long established relationship with the Vivendi. If this deal does turn out to be a fact, you can expect DreamWorks to roar louder among its competitors. This studio needs to get bigger and this opportunity will certainly help it go further. "

What will this mean for Devdas in the states and it's dvd

Why does it say 2 full songs? Are they cut short in the movie?
