My uncle told me about this film. Is it really a remake of The Exorcist?

Yes, it is a remake of The Exorcist and the effects are not bad for a 1977 bollyhorror film.

Jadu Tona is okay, milestone would be when Dhanwan or Walayati Babu get released on DVD!

Some movies even with their primitive style special effects are always better than new sophisticated duds! . e.g Ali baba is million years ahead of Drona!

I got around to see this one after picking up a copy. Pleasent watch. Not bad at all. Its not a cheesy, typical Ramsay films that was made during that period and its a not a complete copy of The Exorcist. The story isnt too bad and the motive behind the black magic is pretty cheesy too. But the complete cast was wonderful. The direction isnt too bad either.

Reena Roy was a joy to watch. Feroz Khan was good as the intelligent doctor. And suprising Ashok Kumar was real good too! The girl playing the central role is superb. Prem Chopra, Prem Nath, Jeevan are okay too.

Overall: A decent watch. Dont expect a masterpiece but a real thrill! The message is more thrilling then the film itself. Also a special mention for the scene when the girl goes into the 'Panalal ruins', best scene in the film!

3 out 5
