DEI released quite a few Punjabi titles back in the day. Which ones do you think are good films?

Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai (with Prithviraj Kapoor)
Chaan Pardesi (the film has great punjabi songs)
Laung Da Liskhara ("see above")

PLUS, these are actually GOOD-entertaining punjabi films with no ingredients to make it look like a C grade movie.

Shaheed Uddham Singh and Shaheed E Mohabbat aren't bad either. But Long Da and Chann Pardesi have some great songs. The two are available on CD from RPG. I have to find that CD next time I go to Toronto.

Shaheed Uddham Singh was a favorite of mine. It's a great movie with some good acting by Raj Babbar.

Shaheed-E-Mohabbat was a pretty cool movie as well. Check them out.

Raj Babbar was excellent in and as Shaheed Uddham Singh. The final court-room scene is a classic.

Arsh and other Punjabi fans, if you want to see Shuddh Punjabi and great comedy throuh living style language, see Pakistani film NAUKER WOTI DAA. I don't know if it's DVD exists or not but the film is enjoyable no matter how bad a video you get.

Borrowed Jee Aayan Nu VHS and intended to scan it quickly in 10 - 15 min. Found it interesting enouh so started watching the film a bit seriously the next time and then another next time. It was so interesting and so well done, I and others were glued to it. A great Film, Great music, and Well Done.

I agree with all above posts about how great a film this is. I really regret, I missed a chance to see this film in theatre when it was shown locally. Found out too late.
