This gives you a SLIGHTLY better comparison between the ABOVE 2 screens.

http://comparescreenshots.slicx.com/comparison/55869

I'll pull out my REM 3DVD9 set to give you the EXACT same frame as the BluRay...but from just
THIS example, it seems we have a wider picture. Less cropping on right, top & left sides.

PAY attention to that folks :)

So has the magenta push been confirmed now? The stills look really off balance and wrong. White point is incorrect.

Got the disc today. There is a pinkish hue in some scenes but not too bad, at least it didn't bother me. On the brighter side the disc is region free. Was able to play it in my Panasonic BD player.

That is correct. The subs are forced during songs.

Desifreak dude! Where are you based and which bluray player do you have? You have build up a lot of expectations for folks every where with your comment!

Please verify, before tons of people get this from Germany only to see no GO! and then curse you lol.

Thanks

After reading the above, if anybody is remotely interested in buying this Blu ray, I appreciate their tolerance. I am definitely backing out. Irremovable subtitles is almost as big if not bigger a sin as watermarks for me.

I am in the US (New Jersey to be precise) and the player is Panasonic DMP-BD10AK (Region A). The player has not been modded. I have not checked the extras (Making, Deleted Scenes, Interview with Karan Johar and Trailer) to see if they can be played. Let me know if you want me to check anything else. Hope this helps.

Thanks again! Yes! Please if the rest stuff plays too, means your player can possibly play pal with pal to ntsc conversion. Only a BDROM can tell, what region it is? Seems Zero in this case!

You're welcome. Just checked the disc on my PC. Here is what AnyDVD shows:

I tried playing a Region B disc (French Movie: Brotherhood of the Wolf) and all I got was a blank screen. Enabled log on AnyDVD and this is what it says for K3G:

0.00s: AnyDVD HD 6.6.4.2
0.05s: Drive: J:, disabled: 0, don't touch: 0, capture: 0
0.05s: medium state: 2
0.05s: ready

According to some posts medium state: 2, means Region B (I cannot confirm that because I don't understand the log). I can't explain why my player still plays the disc. I was able to play the extras as well for some reason. The extras are supposed to be PAL encoded SD video.

Ok..some more info. Ran BDEdit on K3G, on clicking 'Region Code' button this is what it says: "Region code checking not found".

Are the subtitles burned in or rendered by the player?

Subtitles are rendered by the player.
