Everyone should start a massive leeching before Audiogalaxy closes down. One good cd on there right now is The Eminem Show. Type in "Eminem show zipped". Its the full album at top quality.

I am not such a big fan of English soundtracks and I feel thats the place you should be (AG) for downloading them. As for Hindi, bengali and telugu stuff I think I have my sources and a direct peer-to-peer transfer if better for me.. What more can one ask with all new songs coming in the next day it is released :).... So I wouldnt rather care for AG ( though I must say I did download once all the ABBA and KENNY-G tracks (all their songs till todate) and also nearly 700 songs by Richard Clayderman !)

I am going to kill the RIAA.
I find good Hindi songs on Napster, they attack that
I find them on morpheus, they attack that
now AG?

Any new Hindi film songs. I mean, I buy all the albums I really like (e.g. Lagaan, Devdas, LOBS, etc.), but the stuff I'm really looking for are albums where I like only a few songs (like Humraaz or HTHS [which I only liked one song from]).

Rishi add me or Arsh to your contact list and we will see what we can do for ya :) But there is a caveat...It would be great if you can contribute some songs also... esp some hard to find oldies...Also if you can scavenge ur friends homes for any CDs that they may have, then we are in business :) As I siad before I have stopped using AG as folks there do not rip songs in the way we generally rip and that is VBR !

VBR = variable bit rate encoding

The traditional method of audio encoding, known as constant bit rate (CBR), maintains a constant bit rate throughout the entire recording. With VBR, if parts of a song have less sound, the bit rate drops to a lower level... often down to 32 Kbps or lower. But in parts when there is a great deal of sound signal, the bit rate increases to whatever maximum you specify... usually 192 Kbps or higher. The benefit of VBR is higher overall sound quality at a smaller file size... kool or wat

yea, if everyone thought this way as well (and they do) audio industry will suck too! the indian cd's aren't expensive to purchase, especially compared to American cd's. and the Indian songs are decent, unlike the american POS.

http://www.hot.ee/smpman/mp3/Lame392.zip (for encoding)

The Lame encoder/decoder

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/eac09b4.exe

Exact audio copy for ripping the CD

You may wish to use the Razor Lame font end for encoding purposes....

http://www.dors.de/razorlame/razorlame.zip

Make sure you set the path for Lame.exe from your razorlame window

The presets which we all use are :-
--alt-preset extreme -v -b 192 ...Change that in Razor lame window, edit/lame options/user defined prefs (or something like that)

and then you get high quality VBR rips !
