Looking at this pic :-

I feel the Dola Re Dola song will form the REAL thriller in this REEL classic... It is just gonna be (as Michael hafner would have said) "Unglaublich" ( Oh! I just cant imagine the sight of this..its been ages since I have ever dreamt of such a sight from Bollywood...I guess my parents did that when Sholay was released and Grandparents when Mugahl-e-Azam was released ! )

Madhuri Vs Ash (..."Baandh ke main Ghungroo, pehan ke main payal"...) sums up this whole song and infact the whole movie !

I honestly dont see wat the big deal is with this movie.. Dont get me wrong and dont start a stupid flame war, but I seriously aint got a clue what everyone is looking forward to this movie for!! Ok i agree SLB did create a classic move HDDCS but this is different.. the original Devdas with Dilip Kumar was utter boring, so i dont see why this will be any different.. ok its got Madhuri and Ash in it, but they were also in HTHS... which turned out to be an awful movie indeed!! I just feel this movie will be another run of the mill movie that hardly has anything different to offer.... As they say dont judge a book by its cover, i.e. the so called star cast lead by the wanker SRK.. hardly does make an excellent movie does it!! Saying that maybe its just me, whos looking forward to kaante too much...!! :D Give me kaante any day over this run of mill stupid luv story... But hey thats my two pennies worth...

Well Faddy, just cause you find it boring does not mean everyone will right? Don't get me wrong but it is a little like explaining Shakespeare to a 6 year old who would rather watch cartoon. Again I'm not calling you names but just making a comparison :D

suppose u are right congress.. i just truthfully havent been able to enjoy a movie that is based around a love story.. especially one based around SRK... maybe that is why i dont see the fascination with Devdas... you never know i may change my tune once ive actually watched it.... but at this moment in time, im keeping myself psyched up for Kaante!! :)

we already know the sets are breathtaking.

we already know the music is beautiful.

we already know two of the most beautiful women in bollywood are starring and dancing.

we can probably guess that the acting will be first rate.

and the film was shown at bloody CANNES!

if this film isn't a classic, i'll be surprised and disappointed (almost to the point of depression).

U haven't been able to enjoy films revolving around love stories? I can't remember the last time Bollywood made a decent action film. I'd place my bet on Bollyood getting love stories right instead of action films. I'll give Kaante a benefit of a doubt for the moment but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna enjoy Devdas.

Well, let's not start reviewing Devdas already! Faddy, I agree that the Bimal Roy Devdas was a bit boring. Well shot, but boring. Maybe it has something to do with my dislike of Dilip Kumar. But that's getting off-topic. SLB's Devdas could be this year's Lagaan or it could be utter tripe. We don't know at this point. So I guess there WAS a showdown over Devdas :-)

Theon :- Not to forget, Universal has picked up the rights for the distribution of the film in North America... what esle can u expect :)

Congress :- good analogy :)

Dragun... Bimal Roy's movie was Boring you say but i beg to differ. His movie was more aesthetic and down to earth. SLB's film is larger than lif ( which has been acknowledged by even Phoren folks ). You have to understand that Dilip Kumar and Shakrukh khan are separated by a whole generation and it would be unfair to compare both of them together. But I will anytime root for Suchitra Sen over Ashwariya-Small Bust Line- Rai :D ... It will be tuff to choose between Vyjantimala and Mad Nene !

Desi critics in the west had ridiculed LAGAAN last year when it was released, and look what it turned out to be. In da west, what matters for me is what Foreign crictics state. Desi crictics (in da west) and also desi folks who dunno anything abt this film can very well go to hell :)

I will agree with Congress on this aspect ! This is gonna be slightly out of place as u dont see a Hero drink himself to death these days :)
