Couples Retreat official website

ARR has composed the music for this Hollywood film. You can hear some of his music on various sections of the site, including one Tamil track!

Kurukuru Kan is the only "out"-standing piece here. Every other track sounds like it's trying to imitate SDM(which isn't saying much), that or it sounds just about like the BGM of any campy happy-go-lucky hollywood film.

I like Nana and Sharks, in addition to Kuru Kuru. Otherwise, its not a fantastic album, but it is more eclectic than the usual Hollywood rom-com scores.

A.R.Rehman to make album with K V in Telugu
Oct 12, 2009 - 9:45:38 AM

Music maestro A.R.Rehman is all set to make a music album in Telugu under the guidance of legendary director K Vishwanath. Talking to reporters in Hyderabad today (Monday, October 12, 2009), Rehman informed that he has spoken with K.V. “We agreed to work together and will begin work for it shortly. Other than that I am doing a film in Telugu after a long time for Pawan Kalyan’s Puli,” he added. Rehman will be performing live at a concert in Hyderabad on October 24th. The concert, which was a part of Rahman’s world tour, is to be conducted by GMR group and would be dedicated to late YSR and revenues would be given to flood victims.

“Telugu people have great taste for good music. In initial stage of my career I worked with Telugu music directors like Koti and others. And I am great fan of Mr.K.Vishwanth and his films. I am happy to inform you that I will be working with him for an album soon,” Rehman said.

Between this and Puli, ARR seems to be doing more work in Telugu these days. Good to see he's not just doing crappy HW romantic comedies

I just read SJ Surya is directing Puli. I don't know what to expect now. I really liked a couple of songs from Ah Aah, and Naani...progressive yet traditional with the folk song/lullaby with the right singers. I was just listening to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na..the music is good but the singers weren't suitable.

Anyway, yeah, I don't like much of ARR's work outside of Tamil/Telugu cinema, and the dubbing is usually good into Telugu. I'd like to seem him do a film with Krishna Vamsi, one of the better Telugu directors--he's already worked with Ilaiyaraaja, Mani Sharma, Devi Sri Prasad, and his latest with Vijay Antony with Naaka Mukka remade in Telugu! Missing ARR and Yuvan! HJ's music is too fruity for the likes of Krishna Vamsi.

Komaram Puli album is good. Amma Thale and Maham Aye are the best songs.

Agreed. The only song I'm not crazy about is Maaralante, which is a standard kind of patriotic track ARR does in his sleep.

Did you guys know that the A.R. Rahman concert in Toronto was cancelled? Appearently, because a lack of proper concert infustructure and surprisingly enough tickets weren't sold to actually have a show.
