Seems Priya Darshan;s STINKY SH* might still be Sarook's HIT

STINKY is right. If you want to watch a movie that wanders around aimlessly on a thread line premise, go watch it. Dunno why SRK chose Priyadarshan to direct this weird mess, cause like I expected, there was no vision in it. What could have been told in a 30 minute mini-flick drags on endlessly for 2 hours plus, complete with the typical buffoonish and screaming villager characters. (Curses to Om Puri and Rajpal Yadav for repeating the same characters they've done in countless past Priyadarshan flicks.)

Nothing special about the performances either. Lara and Irrfan looked nothing like the impoverished characters they were to portray, and they couldn't possibly have less chemistry together. The over-the-top repeated King Khan references were super annoying too, almost as ridiculous as SRK's Shahenshah (the eighties AB flick) inspired wardrobe.

My only respite from the experience came from three sources. 1) My wife apologized for dragging me to this garbage on Valentine's day and 2) I was happy to discover that Delhi-6 is opening at the same cinema next week, thanks to the life-sized cardboard cut-out in the lobby. 3) The cinematography was great, and made me even want to visit the hilly region of India where this village supposedly exists. (No, I'm not stupid enough to act on that impulse.)

3.5/10

I saw it over the weekend. Nothing great but simply okay. I didnt have any huge expectations and its not a big film, but to me its nice to see Irrfan Khan acting so well after Haasil. SRK was okay, but why does he have like 4 songs even though its a Irrfan starrer? They did try to make it out like it was a two hero film. The ending was pretty good too.

Some of the comedy scenes were pretty funny, usual Priyadarshan stuff but funny. But I dont think I will watch it again and if I was it proberly be for the scene when the guest house manager acts out the part of the inspector

3 out 5

As expected, Priyadarshan and Shahrukh combined to screw up what might have been a a pretty good film, had it been directed by someone like Hrishikesh Mukherjee.

I agree with Sanjay here! But PRIYACRAPAN is no HRISHI DA! Another film with great promise he screwed up was YTGMG mostly wrong cast. Billu is only IRFAN, nothing else! Rest is just added attractions Farah Khan style to mucha money.

Climax says it all, only scene where SAROOK, IRFAN are face to face, IRFAN pulls the rug under sarook's feet.

I think these 3 aging Khan's latest last hurrah is added attraction with 16-22 year old heroines to bring the spectators in.

I wonder if Billu Barber will be a hit or not ?? It's being promoted solely on the basis of SRK and his three ladies but they are just for three item numbers. Sure, Ifran Khan, hero of the film, is a great actor and does have his fan following but aam aadmi goes to see the film expecting SRK and his three heroines may come out disappointed, not seeing enough of them ??

Billu Barber promotions sure are "Haathi Ke daant dikhane ke aur aur Khaane ke aur" ??

Added Later:
After seeing the film, must say that the above comment doesn't apply. SRK sure had a big role, almost as big as Ifran Khan. His three heroines (Kareena, Deepika in one full song each and Priyanka for less than one complete song) though were just for the song and nothing else.

I'm sure Ifran Khan will carry the film on his own acting capabilities but if people go to see SRK instead, they may be disappointed ??

Saw this film and really liked it. SRK sure had a meaty role and it was not just item numbers that we thought.
Theatre sure burst out in laughter with Om Puri's (adult) Nauvan Ajooba (9th wonder) act.

Special effects, high octane music and surround sound were in full force. End credits showed DD and DTS logos.

Film run time, from start to end of end credits was 137 min.

---------------
Can anyone remind me which film is that Lara Dutta dream sequence song from ?? I'm sure it's from some past film but can't think the name and I don't remember the lyrics or catch words.

After reading the bashing here I approached the film with caution, and you know what..... I liked it, I didn't expect much from it thats why, I think alot of people here are approaching SRK films with really higher expectations and that's why they come out crying.

Its a light hearted easy going comedy, that's all nothing really brain draining or gut wrenching, for a easy nights watch its really good.

Songs are nice also, the best 2 are: Billoo Bayankar and Khudaya Khair, the latter has really nice lyrics.

All and all its very pleasant easy watch movie.

I give it 3.5 Stars

Sample from esnips: http://www.esnips.com/doc/8f30d2d4-1f8c ... llu-barber

Sounds like that they used some karaoke software ... but full version is available by e-mailing the person who posted it. Good luck!

Thanks Muz. In absence of proper instrumental version, even this Karaoke version will do.
I e-mailed the request. I hope I get it in time (by Tuesday).
