The biggest thing I now have against T-Series is that all of their discs are now rotting .. All the discs from India namely Salaam-E-Ishq, Sarkar, Chalte Chalte and some old titles like Qurbani Rang Layegi, Haathi Mera Saathi and Palay Khan are now rotting. A new title like Bhool Bulaiya (the fancy pack) is also freezing up! God damn why cant these people get things right. Now I wonder when my blu ray discs of OSO and Hey Baby will rot!

Lmao!

All these Rs.45 ones are all DVD 5s anyway. LOL now the DVD 9s too!

Nice to see UTV going back to doing proper DVD transfers again!!
what i've heard is that aamir khan got the taare zameen par dvd authoring** done from a third party and it is this same transfer that both utv and t-series replicated.

Also that Gowarikar and UTV supervised the authoring for Jodhaa Akbar at Shemaroo..., and UTV and BIG replicated this...

**So perhaps even Jaane Tu... has a great dvd transfer because of aamir khan's involvement and is maybe not really UTV authoring.

Warner are doing Jaane Tu...? Wow! Should be something to look forward to!

I took t-series shots from my IBM laptop that has ancient hardware so the colours don't come out right. But still:

I will be on the look out for the Warner DVD if the rumor is true .. T-Series DVDs, the discs have probably already begun to rot, enjoy it while you can.

Sorry for all the negativity BTW.

Just bought the T-Series version and guess what? The movie (disc 1) would not play in my Panasonic BD55 Blu-Ray player. The disc would not even load. Disc 2 loaded fine. Anyhow I then tried Disc 1 in my PS3 and it worked. I suppose the famous T-Series rot has begun to set in already.

Perhaps compatability issues more than rot...

Check the Firmware on the Panasonic as that could be the issue. I have the Samsung Bd-1500 blu-ray player (free with my new LCD). and I had a lot of glitches with the UTV DVDs. After going on Google it had nothing to do with UTV. It was an issue with the Firmware Samsung recently released which is having issues with all of the standard DVDs freezing up on & off. (on a side note the Samsung tech's are aware of the issue).

And where is this Disney TZP? Didn't Disney supposedly have a 3 month lead time when the T-Series version was released, in July?

I am watching the t-series DVD in dts... the surround sound is as was in the theatres -- the movie itself does not have overly aggressive surround -- it's more ambient in nature, much like LAGAAN -- and crystal clear (with proper separation) as and when it happens.

Lots of care seems to have gone into the DVD. It looks like the layer transition on the t-series DVD happens at the movie intermission! Not 100% perfect, but well tried!! I am sure this is this way even on the UTV dvd -- both being exactly the same ;-)

The Panasonic BD55 has not had a single issue with playing any BDs or DVDs so far. In fact it played the Disc 2 (Special Features) of Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na.. perfectly fine. Also, this is not a case of freezing up, but rather the disc simply cannot be read. In any case to put this debate to rest, I have now tried playing Disc 1 on 'THREE' different players other than the Panasonic BD55, with the same result. The disc cannot be read in any of them, with the PS3 being the only player to succesfully play it. I am sure it is not a case of rot, for it is brand new, therefore there has not been enough time for any rot to set in, but rather it is a typical case of T-Series using cheap and crappy media. As it is 'silver' media is not a good idea for dual layered discs, which is what Indian DVD manufacturers all seem to use, T-Series seems to, like 'Video Sound' used to, use the cheapest and crappiest media they can lay their hands on.

true -- it may simply be a defective/unreadable disc...

ksingh had issues with UTV dvds... you have your first issue with a t-series dvd. My sony usually has issues with shemaroo, several pioneer players have issues with t-series that play fine on other players -- newer pioneer have addressed the problem... just listing out some peculiarities.
