Exactly, what it is!!cover art..thanks vjmajic2002,
Now!!for Naven!! no hard feelings..? on my part.

Here is my input on the film?

I just watched abt half of the film, ??Film starts very well1! but?

In first half kinda story does not move quite forward!!?

Film..seems to be INSPIRED from my favourite CUTE film..EXCESS BAGGAGE with ALICIA SILVERSTONE?? Any one saw that movie??BTW!! when I saw that long time ago, I remarked spontaneously"this will make a swell bollywood masala film" so Raj Kanwar finally saw that!!

But..here is the but!! the beautiful, cute, innocent story line and plot has been spoiled with DAMN hindi writers..stupid/devils with PUNAR JANAM(RE-INCARCINATION)??stuff, blown out of the point!! take Karan Arjun, Kajol's HAMESHA and few others too, more recent craps!!So that will spoil, surely the basic NICE story line!!

Production values..look good!!along with camera work!!

Star cast!! esp supporting seems good!! except, heroine's dad, who looks like a music company..tips etc's ceo??

Heroine??Is it AMRITA ARORA??? might be the NEXT BABE..on the BLOCK>>with LOOK and PHYSIQUE>>not a bad dancer eitjer..kinda remind u of PRIYA GIL at times!!

NEW GUY IN BLOCK>.I think u wont see him again, he belongs to Tushat ape group with no substance...parody look of SUNIL SHETTY may be??

DVD>>Now!! Surprisingly GOOD TRANSFER by SPARK/SOVEN!!
COLORS are rich and vivid and looks most of the time very sharp with some softer and blurry scenes here and there..but over all..good transfer with exc color fidelity iMO, reminded me of EK RISHTA..that I thought were a bit too much? but SUNNY AUDIT told me that film was shot in those colors!!

Motion artifacts are less marked as compare to their previos releases, Un-like AMALL and TSAKH!!

Now!! Finally the SOUND FACTOR..DD 5.1..very dynamic, a lot of surround activity, very clean and discrete..A lot to my taste..VERY GOOD..INDEED!!!

Now, I'll report back, after going through the entire 3 hrs torture test!! how I took the PUNAR JANAM part??

Music..is decent..nothing GREAT!!

OVERALL< If I compare with AMALL? def better DVD transfer IMHO!!
Besides Hrithik factor!! It might be a bit better too, , but i have to keep my opinion RESERVED till I see the WHOLE FILM!!?Thanks :baaa:

faddy, i think, u have lost ur senses? thinking like that!!
I expected better common-SENSE of SENSIBILITY from u man!!

But any way!! U dont have to even watch that..I did not make this film either..come on, get a break!!

Well, thanks..Buff! U knew the secret!!

(Actually i am trying to save a lot of MOORAKHs money..trying to save their pockets!!)

Here is my bottom line after watching the whole movie, like every body's??

The hitch:
Director Raj Kanwar uses the tried-and-tested reincarnation formula. But he seems to lose focus somewhere along the film. So in spite of a decent beginning, the film gets hopelessly melodramatic and irksome post interval.

Songs keep cropping up at the most inopportune moments as Kanwar tries to fit in the elements of a masala potboiler; albeit unsuccessfully. As for the comedy track, it is better left unsaid.

On the acting front, things are better. Arya Babbar has potential but has a long way to go. He tends to ham at times. Amrita Rao exudes confidence and makes a decent debut.

The rest of the cast act out of habit and appear listless.

There are only two reasons for seeing this film: you are a big fan of reincarnation themes and thrive on films like Karz and Karan Arjun. Or you want to brace yourself for the plethora of Shaheed Bhagat Singhs coming up this summer by watching a teaser in the form of Shaheed Abhay Singh.

BTW!! songs, even inspite of their weired placement are picturized very well, with goos costumes, locales, choreography..My personal favourite is : aaja mahi"" and camera work looks pretty appealing1!

BUTT!! that is NOT ENOUGH to make a movie GOOD!!
Verdict!!? Kinda time pass!! :baaa: :ffs:  :stupid:

Arsh bhai isnt it a tad ironic... Daddy dear started as a RAPIST ( :D ) and became an overnight sensation whereas beta has sun without a trace. Is this the same Raj Kanwar that gave us such hits as Deewana & Judaai ? Whatever has happened to such directors... The storyline is very similar to the Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Rajkumar, Priya Rajvansh starrer...Kudrat ( and that movie i remember was a disaster sans the lovely songs by RD Burman !).. Than goodness i deleted the songs from my HDD, can use that for other good stuff..
OUT !!

Good for u Nath! and thanks for reminding me of Kudrat!!I agree!!
It was so frustrating, how film starts very well, with a hint of excess baggage and then fail to progree and then takes a 360 degree turns into bhagat singh era, and re-incarnation crap to end in Badal final fight climax sequence where first same bad guy is beaten bt Boby deol, rescued by police for a moment and then becoming evil again..mercilessly killed by boby deol infront of police earning a hathkadi!! woosh!! coincidence may be?

U know we might have seen dozens of other movies like this on dvd in the past for experimenting..in my case!
But!!If u like a very good Surround sound done in a film, as me too love that, u owe ur self a watch of this dvd!!Extremely well done..surround!!Picture wont disappoint many?, imo, except hard core professionals!!
and for few more positive things as i remarked, Amrita Rao, supporting cast, exc cinematography, and beautifully choreographed and well danced songs by Amrita Rao..I think she exudes a very good potential talent!!

here are comments from Budhoo's review from PB who rates it 5/10

[Ab Ke Baras is a visually pleasant film. The cinematography by Ishwir Bidri is just excellent! The film scores most of its points in the fact that the dream sequences have been handled with a lot of panache and the periodic scene is also visually pleasant. The action sequences are also very well coordinated. The hit song, “Aaya Mahi” is excellently picturized. Anu Maliik doesn’t lend the film his greatest of efforts musically, but in comparison to his recent soundtracks, well, this one is really good! The title track is pleasant though appears clichéd in the film. Oh wait- so does the rest of the film! ]

Then Budhu compliments Amrita Rao..Who will be seen in Bhagat Singh's love INTERSET in Santoshi's LOBS!! She did that kinda part in this film too, very well!!

[Arya Babbar performs with extreme confidence as a newcomer. His looks, dancing talents and dialogue delivery are impressive( I kinda differ a bit with that, but not much though).

Amrita Rao comes out the real winner, with her dancing skills, innocent looks and decent acting skills. For Amrita, I will give the benefit of the doubt as she has Tips Films Legend of Bhagat Singh in her kitty, which should exhibit her talent in a notable film] :baaa:

Well, I know it's an old film by now, but I finally saw it for no good reason. It was quite interesting. I enjoyed the plot as a whole, especially the fact that they're getting after the traitors involved in politics. The movie wasn't handled as well as it could have been, but it was still good.
7/10 from my end.
