At 11.30 pm, I walk out of Film Forum. Aamir Khan is standing outside, smoking. I walk up to him and introduce myself. Soon, more and more people recognise him.

Haha, I wonder what people thought when they saw Bhuvan smoking a cigarette. It brings to mind that picture of Shah Rukh Khan signing autographs for some children with a cig hanging out of his mouth.

I can hear Radha kaise na jale playing in the background. I never thought the day would come that I would hear [playback singer] Asha Bhosle's voice at a theater where I am used to seeing works of Bernardo Bertolucci, Francois Truffaut, Orson Welles and Woody Allen.

I still can't get over the fact that Lagaan got so much appreciation but I am a little disappointed that the "major release" in U.S is so small.

According to the author of the article(Aseem Chaabra) Sony plans on doing a staggered release all through America. For eg LAGAAN releases in Boston on May 17...i think they are awaiting the word-of-mouth publicity to kick in....the reviews have already appeared on the Coast newspapers....in fact some of the viewer's reviews that have appeared on an LA newspaper is rather encouraging....i am sure Sony knows what it is doing...after all they are the ones that released 'Crouching Tiger...'

Yeah, actually, the critic of the Chicago Tribune mentioned Lagaan (with a brief summary) as some of his picks for the summer movies to watch. He really liked it. I think they said it was coming out in early to mid-June in Chicago.
