To answer someone's question regarding original sources.

25FPS = PAL
29.970 = NTSC

That much is known.

NOW, if I have a film that is progressive PAL (25p)...and wish to convert it to NTSC, then it can be done in a few ways AND retaining progressive nature. Of course audio as well needs to be pitch-corrected as Stephen mentioned.

You inquired about 24FPS (23.976)...yes 25p can be taken to 24p and still retain progressive nature. Not many people know how to do this, much less Bollywood.

No, no, no. :lol:

To correct my stance on this issue, I am absolutely against pitch-correction. It causes too many problems to be worth it, like audio drop-outs and garbling.

Pitch correction properly done has no issues.

But since no releaser of Indian DVDs thus far seems to know how to do it properly, it's best they just don't even try.
