Saw this last night. DEI are simply the best. Even for a low key film such as this, they have produced a great dvd.

The anamorphic widescreen picture is crisp and clear and this is consistent all throughout the film
The sound is a fantastic 5.1 and is one of the best i have heard for an indian dvd so far. The sound is really effective during the brilliant action sequences and the songs. The songs arent very good apart from ya ila re which stands out above the rest.

The plot itself was quite interesting. There were lots of different characters in the movie It deals with the sensitive subject of cancer. Jackie Shroffs Son has cancer and the only donor they can find belongs to a bad guy (sanjay dutt with a dubbed voice) Sanjay agrees to give his bone marrow but uses the opportunity to escape without completing the operation.

The bulk of the film then focuses on the life of sanjay dutt and his friends and his girlfriend(a hot looking shilpa). Both Jackie Shroff(Veer) and Aditya Panscholi(Khan) are hot on Sanjays tail. Khan and Veer are both cops but Veer wants sanjay alive and Khan wants him dead cos he hates criminals.
The action scenes and the John Woo style gunplay are great to watch and the cinematography is great throughout.
It is hard to believe that there was so much trouble making this film as its not apparent when u watch it.

The dvd was let down by lack of extras. I would have liked to see the making of it as there were many problems during production. Also would have liked to see how the action scenes were done. The menus were pretty good.
Overall
Picture 8/10 Sound 8/10 Film 7/10 Extras 2/10

Another special about this DVD will be of interest to Collectors.

This was the First Anamorphic Indian DVD, ahead of KNPH. Kroadh was the second and KNPH was the third Indian Anamorphic DVD.

Are you sure Krodh wasn't the first?

Yes, you may be right. Actually I bought both of these DVDs, from a stoe, ahead of the, supposed to be first Anamorphic KNPH release which was delayed by a week or so.

There is a store in Toronto (perhaps DEI's Canadian distributor in the old days) from where I've been able to get most of DEI associated DVDs, wheher in current circulation or not. Appolo Video at Airport Rd, Toronto.

BTW, Jung is now listed as EROS at IW.

DEI Jung is listedd at Neha ($ 19) but shows up out of stock.
