I recieved today a one disc version of Aankhen
Taken from indianwatchdog.com
"Another Pirated DVD of Aankhen

1. This new pirated DVD comes in the exact same DVD case, but is a single disc as compared to 3 discs
2. The pirated DVD cases on the spine of the DVD case have collectors edition written and not Collectors Edition 3 Disc Set like the original"
Both cases are true. The cover is like that shown on the site. and it has collectors edition written on it. indianwatchdog
The disc does not appear to be legit. There is no inlay or nothing just the disc. I reckon its a pirate. What should i do?

It is a definete pirate. Video Sound only released a 3 Disc version. Video Sound themselve, it is heard, release pirate DVD of their discs to aquire more profits for themselves. Not much you can do about that.

How is the quality of the DVD if you compare it to the screen shots on this site?

well for one i am p*ssed off at indiandvdfilms for selling me the disc in the first place. I paid £18.99 for the 3 disc set and i was sent the single pirate disc. I didnt expect them to be dealing in pirate dvds. The guy said he would refund me the difference in the one disc set and 3 disc set but i checked my account today and nothing has happened except for the initial £18.99 debit.
Indiandvdfilms is a well amateur company. Cowboys if you like. They sold me the 3 disc set and sent me a pirate disc.
Just 1 word, dodgy.

if it is a real pirate i'm a bit miffed with http://www.indiandvdfilms.com for selling it to me.. but that said, jolly says that this is the version being released for UK, and we're not getting the 3 disc version.

And looking at the actual disc, in the inner ring it has Video Sound printed there, so I doubt it's a pirate... i just think it's a rush job from Video Sound, who employed some gimp to use MS Paint and cut and paste little things like DISC 2, DISC 3 info etc... looking at the disc, it's clear there's space designated for it. And the gimp should've removed Collector's Edition altogether... there isn't even a trailer or making of!!! :doze:

As for the DVD quality seems to be just like what everyone else is saying, and matches the screenshots (VIVID mode noted).. and there are subtitles etc, it's anamphoric, 5.1 ... and the packaging doesn't seem to be of pirate quality (although these days that's hard to say)... plus inlays in official Bollywood DVDs seem to rare anyway.

so pirate disc.. maybe not... and even if it was, the quality is good enough for me... actually looks like a pretty good print... you know for a Video Sound release!! :p

and i don't think it's fair to call indiandvdfilms cowboys.. they were probably told to expect a 3-disc version from VS, and charge so much.. only to get a week's delay and end up with a one disc version... and tons of orders to fulfill... and plenty of £2 refunds to hand out... i don't know what else they could've done, apart from ship out all the discs, and keep the majority of customers happy... i think Video Sound is to blame, unless i hear that other UK companies have been selling the 3-disc version with no problems.. then that would totally contradict the unanimous praise that Indiandvdfilms seem to get on these forums. :)

If Jolly and indiadvdfilms have shafted you by advertising a 3 disc version then sending you a 1 disc shitty videosound crap disc (what did you really expect from video sound) then simply report the offender to trading standards. Also he has broken the law (Sale of Goods and Services Act, (UK))

I have never bought any Indian DVDs online from anyone, and if I did Jolly would neither be my first or last choice. He is the most expensive and rip off artist online for Indian DVDs...PERIOD!

Dont know why you guys always but from him, know the fact that he is so expensive and ripping customer off by giving wrongly ordered DVDs.

If the above is true, then Jolly should compensate and give you 2 other DVD's of you choice to make up the 3 advertised.
I had a similar problem when I bought some cd's (yes bought) form cdguru and one of the cd's on there website included an extra cd but when I got the package there was only one, so I emailed to complain.
Cdguru accepted that there was an error for the UK market and only one cd is supplied, but to their credit I was given the choice for a part refund or a cd of my choice. Yes I choose a CD.

Jolly this is good customer service take note.

Jolly you might not see this but you're rubbing people the wrong way. You advertised the 3 disc version, charged people the three disc version and when masti_man asked for a refund – you sent him the single DVD version - that’s messing people about. You should have simply given the option of a full refund or asked them if they wanted the single disc version. Then at least they have option for refusal and no complaints. I for one don’t see what the fuss is about – the extra two discs are not worth having period - so just keep the single disc version as is.

And as for this single disc being a ‘legit’ DVD, well you know and I know any Video Sound DVD sold in the UK is illegal ;)

Jolly you let pass an opportunity to show how good your customer service / relations are. You missed the boat big time.

It's no secret that any DVD sold in the UK has to be certified by BBFC - if it doesn’t have the BBFC cert on it's illegal to sell it. GVI (Gurpreet Video) usually get the Video Sound DVDs certified for UK release; Tum Bin, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai and few others have been through this process and are the only legit DVDs for the UK market. Rest are sold illegally by many other video shops around the UK.
