UpsIn Bollywood, due to a low starcast or lack of publicity a film can remain under-rated, thats the case with Aitbaar. Aitbaar is one of the earlier films
of the genius Mukul Anand, and at the moment he just began his career. Aitbaar is his views of how a marriage releationship is very important and
how crime never pays. Aitbaar does talk about extra-matrial affairs, something we have seen before but Aitbaar does travel on the same or a higher
level then some of the films made on extra-matrial affairs some being Humraaz, Ajnabee, Jism etc. To be honest, I had no expections in Aitbaar and
I just saw the film for being a Mukul Anand film, but I was so shocked that the film was so very good. The film starts off a little confussing, but the plays
with your mind in a few of the scenes and you cannot believe what you are watching is actually true. The actors were perfect, each did their role very
very well.
DownsAitbaar is indeed a wonderful film, but the problem is thats the film is not a huge budget film, so there are scenes that do look to you that they could
have been done better. The film in portions do seem to drag-on, for example the song just after the court scene was not needed at all, the scene where
Raj Babbar meets Dimple in jail also seems to be scene where it the director tried to drag it on a little. Songs were not really needed, one or two were
enough.

PerformancesThe whole film is carried on a superb performance by Raj Babbar, from the first scene he has where he has the discussion with Sharat Saxena he leaves
in this impression he is up to something, and the end of the film, you feel like WOW! What a performance, to me, this has to be his best performance I have
seen,as Jaideep ,he is perfect. Dimple Kapadia is someone to look out for, she does wonderful in the scene of the incident and she fits into the role so well, wonderful.
Suresh Oberoi is brillant, there are very few performances were he standsout but performed well, in this film he does both, his character suits him.
Danny Denzongpa does make a late enterance but as the police officer he is great, in the ending the actor makes the viewer feel he is in charge now. SharatSaxena is wonderful. Anupam Kher does good in a small role.
MusicIn a film where songs were not really needed, its still is not actually bad. Bappi Lahari instead of using the songs which have two people dancing, the songs this time mainly Ghazals. 'Kisi Nazar Ko Tera' and 'Awaz Di Hai' are songs to look out for, they are both picturised on Suresh Oberoi. The background music
too is indeed wonderful.
DirectionSomething we witnessed in 2007, Johnny Gaddar, we saw 20 odd years before in Aitbaar. Well of course Johnny Gaddar was something for the audience
today but Aitbaar is something that I feel was not for the audience of the 80's, but for the audience of today. Aitbaar has to one of the best thrillers I have seen,
In terms of genre, it is successful all the way and as a entertainer. Mukul S Anand indeed is very intelligent to make this, not many directors could actually make
a film like this today. Its so sad to see very few films like this nowadays.
