The Eros/DEI is probably one to get, it's not likely to get any better than this DVD in the future. Check this thread for more info;

..BUT

I recently checked the Eros/DEI Deewaar DVD again. I used to think this is one best video transfers that DEI had done. But there are some annoying problems with the DVD. Constantly large marks flicker across whole of the screen - similar to slice marks but these are across the entire screen; I'll grab some screen shot later on to show this. The other problem with it the excessive noise reduction which when viewed on large screen is very noticeable. Other than that it's a top DVD if you can find the DEI authored version.

Eros/DEI, huh. I guess the chances of finding a copy aren't too great.

I did not believe Ali when he showed us these glitches in EROS-DEI DVD. I always considered EROS-DEI DEEWAR to be among their best prints. I had to look for these glitches carefuly and sure enough they are there.

Just like I don't notice Film splices on my 32 inch TV, I had never noticed these glitches in DEEWAR DVD. Are these glitches more obvious on large screen TVs?? On my TV, you really have to be looking for these flaws by playing in very slow mo, otherwise you don't notice them.

These glitches seem to be originating from Film. If enough attention is paid, these film frames can either be removed or the previous one duplicated instead. Missing or repeating 1/24 second of film every 10 or 20 minutes will not be noticed in audio-video.

May be one day we will have DVD players with programmability where a film frame can be replaced with a previous one, on choice.

Overall, despite these glitches, I still regard EROS-DEI DVD of DEEWAR to be one of their best.

P.S.
I always thought, all of EROS-DEI DVDs were 1.85:1, irrespectve of, whether the OAR was 1.33:1 or 2.35:1. DEEWAR DVD is 1.33:1. I wonder if any other EROS-DEI DVD is 1.33:1??
