I think the film might have had more appeal if it weren't being promoted as a re-make of Sholay. Looking at the trailers ("clips"), it seems like another Varma-style Bumbai-underworld flick. Were it not the the guy's harping on this project's being "his take on the classic," and were people thus not pressured into thinking in terms of "comparison," the movie might fare much better and garner much less "negative" interest.

Of course, the real draw of the film, for me, is Amitabh Bachchan; that said, after Nishabd, I'm eager to see, also, what Ram Gopal Varma's cooking up.

Thank God! I was looking at B4u music the other day and they showed Himesh Reshamiya and Malika Sherawat recreating the "Mehbooba Mehbooba" song from Sholay. My heart sank as I though it was a clip from RGV's Sholay . I was relieved when it was revealed that the clip was from 'Aap Ka Saroor' - Himesh's crappy film.

I, too, saw that. I'm a little confused now, as, not very long ago, there was a "Mehbooba Mehbooba" "re-mix" video; now Himesh has his thing going — so, we're going to get another one in Varma's film? ...

I am sure we are.....wasnt Urmila Matondkar slated to do that.....ever since COMPANY she's been sorta Verma's new(old actually) item girl i think
