looks good...... but i am getting so confused with these bahagt singh films.... one is 1931 shaheed with bobby deol one is legend of bahagt singh with ajay devgan.. and today on b4u i saw a trailor of another film shaheed bhagat singh with bhangra star harbhajan mann as bhagat singh... he was singing the title track it sounded alright... wonder how many more bhagat singh films are waiting to be released and whether the audience needs so many versions.....

It looks like this version is less commercialized than the Dharmendra version, which could be better!

Raj Kumar Santoshi's version of Bhagat Singh is something most definitely to look forward too. I have liked all his films excluding Barsaat & China Gate. The only downside I see in this film is Ajay Devgan as Bhagat Singh, he doesn't resemble the real Bhagat Singh what so ever. By the way, learn some interesting FACTS about Bhagat Singh, visit the Official Site of Raj Kumar Santoshi's Bhagat Singh.

it says on the website that bhagat singh died when he was 23. Won't it be a little hard for Ajay devgan or even bobby deol to pass off as a 23 year old??

Exactly! Someone like Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Rampal or even Viviek Obeori would have been better choices.

Bobby Deol looks quite similar to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. In fact this film will be an all out patriotic film considering you have the Deol brothers teaming up once again after their miserable flop, Dillagi.

Some quick facts :-

Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai...
Dekhna hai Taqat Kitna bazu-e-Qatil mein hai

a legend by itself... I wish this was given a modern rendition also. Woul honor the Great Chandrasekhar Azad very much. (Sunny essaying that role). He dies first in the film and then Bhagat Singh and Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Any idea folks who are essaying those roles ?

However I think it will be take a real superhuman effort to change from ppls memories the picture of Manoj Kumar as Bhagat Singh ! Lets see what happens :)

I can almost guarantee that all three of these films will suck big time. The givernment of India should not even allow these idiots from Bollywood to tarnish the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh with such commercial crap, wherein they have him prancing around singing songs. If it were up to these guys they would probably have Gandhi break out into a romantic song too.
Having said that one can almost with certainty state that the Deol's version will be the worst of the lot. Quite simply becuase of the director if for nop other reason. Guddu Dhanoa is one of, if not the worst directors in the industry. I fail to understand what could have compelled Sunny Deol from handing over such a prestigious project to such an inane director. Well other than the fact that Guddu Dhanoa is either related to the Deol's or as once rumoured is the ex chauffer (or the chauffer's son) of Dharmendra. Raj Kumar Santoshi is in comparison a great director. Although otherwise I think he is no more than mediocre at best and most definately way over rated. What else can you say about a director who made such a silly film out of such an excellent and powerful story with the film Damini.
The Harbhajan Man Singh version does seem to be the least commercialized of the lot, but then because of its small setup it is a total unknown commodity and the odds are nto too much in its favor.
Alll in all, it is so dissapointing to see one more opportunity to make a worthwhile film go waste due to the inept people involved in the projects.

Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan in this role! no way, they do not have the right character or acting ability.

exactly.. and neither does Arjun Rampal.. he is so wooden... think Devgan fits the boots and me thinks Santoshi's Bhangat Singh would be better than the other to. And the H. Mann's Bhagat Singh... that looks so shitty.

In a way its good making period movies based on facts. Will help our kids in thier history examinations.. I just hope the movies arent too warped ;)

Well,

I can see the Deol version going the same tube as ASOKA, while the RKS version seems to have more substance.

As per Sunny's interviews Dhanoa is their cousin. I believe he also directed the crappy 'Bichoo' with Rani Mukherjee mouthing absolute filth in the movie......this version is certainly going down the gutters....

I dont have much hope for the RKS version either...off late he seems to have lost his sensibilities....but at least he still does have the talent to do a good job...he is a decent writer and may yet surprise us all....only time will tell......

Guddu Dhanoa is indeed a relative of the Deols. He directed films like Ziddi, Salakhen, Bichoo, Aflatoon & was the producer of the highly sucessful film Deewana starring Shahrukh & Divya Bharti.

Anyway getting back to his new movie there is not doubt that Sunny Deol has partly directed this movie or as they say he is the "ghost director" i doubt anyone in their right mind would let Guddu Dhanoa direct this flick.

Raj Kumar Santoshi's film will not doubt be better, Ajay Devgan might just pull it off as Bhagat Singh.

Pretty smart to call it The Legend Bhagat Singh actually. Unlike Asoka where many people were offended with the liberty the director took with the story. I'm sure Bhagat Singh will be singing and dancing since it's a legend. He should be lucky, Gandhi never got to do that. :)
