I've read that SAAMRI and a few other films were made in 3D during the 80's resurgence in 3D.

I'd love to know titles of other 3D films from India. :P
Especially if there were any made in the 50's or prior to the 80's resurgence.

-Also, has anyone here seen SAAMRI theatrically? If so, what was the 3D format? Ie: was it in full-color with polarized glasses or red/blue (or red/green) anaglyphic?

I've heard Shiva Ka Insaaf with Jackie Shroff was a 3-D film, but don't remember much about it. I also think Chota Chetan was 3-D, but not seen it, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I watched Chhota Chetan ("My Dear KuttiChetan" dubbed in Hindi) & Shiva Ka Insaaf in mid 80s in cinema halls using some kind of glasses. I think I used similar glasses while watching a 3D show in Six Flag Amusement Park.

Thanks, Vijay.

Were the glasses tinted, like very very light sunglasses or were they one-eye red and one-eye blue?

The tinted ones (Polarized) would have allowed the films to be shown full color... They're the same kind of glasses you'd use for 3D at 3D Imax films, Shrek 4D in the amusement park only, Terminator 2 3D at the amusement park, Haunted Lighthouse in 3D at Seaworld etc....

i saw the new Chhota Chetan in 1998 with tinted glasses - full colour. I believe other Indian films were like this.

The RED-BLUE/GREEN glasses give you headaches after 10mins, you also end up with one eye green and one red for a while when u remove glasses, but it gives a different effect like SPY KIDS 3-D.

I believe films like Krrish n Spiderman will look better in 3-D. Its an overlooked technology and not a gimmick.

I think they were with one-eye red and one-eye blue, but I may be wrong.

Does anybody remember an Indian company named "Niki Tasha" (can somebody confirm the company name) anounced 3D TV in mid 80s after releasing of Chhota Chetan and Shiva Ka Insaaf? But, nothing happened after the anouncement.

BTW, Mukesh Agrawal, the owner of "Niki Tasha", was in news in those days because of marrying to Rekha and then commited suicide after few weeks/months of marriage.

SHALIMAR (Rex Harrison, Dharmender, Zeenat).
(Raiders Of Sacred Stone)

DVD of "Raiders Of Sacred Stone" has regular version as well as 3-D version (I have the DVD).
But, it's only 90 min version. Hindi version, I think is close to 3 hrs ??
Did Hindi Shalimar too have 3-D version ??

------------------------------

Wasn't a Hanumaan theme film/ cartoon-film in 3-D ??
