Now that WATER did make it to the nominations stage for the 79th Oscars, what do you think it's potential is to walk away with the Oscar in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Competition is stiff, but let's predict and see if it wins it.

In the earlier zulm poll some 14 months ago, only 20% zulmies thought it will win the oscar although 60% thought it'll make the nominations.

I wish they would have nominated Water's SOUNDTRACK instead of crappy Basanti songs! then there would be a sure shot at it!

I'm all for Pan’s Labyrinth. Its a film with an innovative script, spot-on direction, unforgettable performances, and full of immagination. I'm just sadden that the film didn't recieve more nominations, it really deserves it.

However, kudos for Deepa Metha - she is a film-maker who has gone through many problems, to highlight important issues. Her trilogy deserves to be commended - and will be far remembered then any of the NRI "yuppy" films released last year in Bollywood. Lets hope she makes a film called "Wind" = to extend her trilogy!

What upsets me more is that dull films like Babel and the overblown musical Dreamgirls have been considered for many Oscars!!

It seems like Sunny! Oscars and Golden Globe has different tastes too!

Babel..come on, give nomination to Maxico either lol.

Period dramas are Oscar Favorites! may be that explains Dreamgirls or Chicago
