The trailer's been out for several weeks, now. There are two: One has the "Take You Back" theme going; the other, a close-up of Balboa, with a short monologue. Rocky's one of my all-time favorite films, and I sincerely hope that Rocky Balboa kicks as much ass as imaginable.

This one is new and show much more of what the Rocky Balboa is about, the trailer was put online on this site on 11 July 2006. Stallone looks decaying away :o Some good lines on this trailer;

Paulie: "What? You haven't peaked yet!" :rofl:

On a slightly different note, has anyone bought the new Rocky 2-disc Collector's-Edition DVD set? Though the picture/sound quality is only as great as it was on the previous two DVD releases of the film (which is about as good as I'd expect, or want, either to be) the special features are just excellent. To boot, there's a free movie ticket to Rocky Balboa inside every box, as well as a great little "collectible booklet."

I know I sound like a fucking commercial, but I just do really like it — 8) .

Back to the main topic: I hope to catch Balboa in theaters this weekend. Has anyone on these boards seen it yet?

I've not seen it yet but from early review its seem to getting positive feedback and is being compared the original Rocky, looking forward to watching this, but it's doesn’t open until 19 January 2007 over here. Currently on Round 12 of the Q&A on Ain't It Cool News :lol:

One thing I'm not very fond of is Stallone's bad-mouthing Rocky V in just about every interview he's doing these days. Usually, it's something to the effect of, "I really wasn't happy with the way 'V' turned out; I don't know: maybe I wasn't focused or something." All I can say is, I hope this is more "publicity" than honesty. It makes sense to berate a film that most people don't like: Everyone unhappy with V will be thrilled to hear that Stallone didn't like it, either, as it assures that Balboa ("VI") will be different. Publically abandoning V helps sell tickets. Nevertheless, I found (and find) Rocky V to be a great movie; not on par with the first one, or with II, but certainly a class above III and the atrocious IV. I eagerly look forward to making it to the theater to watch Rocky Balboa, but, for me, it's not going to be a window into a "better way to end the series"; I say, V wrapped things up just fine. :D
