After Baghbaan it's Babul

Image

Ravi Chopra who had announced Mitti earlier will soon launch Babul. "We decided to keep Mitti on hold. The film required to be shot in the deserts of Rajasthan. But we cannot shoot there right now. Also I think the concept of Mitti was similar to the The Rising. In the sense that Mitti was a period film too. So we have the film on hold at the moment." So Babul it is! The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Salman Khan. "It is about father-in-law who opens new avenues for his widowed daughter-in-law. The basic premise of the film is that life does not end when your husband dies. There is a vast world out there that can be used to make life active and worthwhile. I have not decided who I want to cast in the daughter-in-law's role. Rani or Priety would be ideal," he said.

Though Amitabh Bachchan was sublime in his performance in it, Baghban, altogether, was sub-mediocre; I only hope that Babul doesn't reek of the same trite quality.

Looking forward to music as I loved it for Baghban, more than movie itself!

From the promo, it looks like the same old stuff we've seen time and again, but I do hope it is decent.

The one promo. I've seen for it thus far doesn't really interest me in the film; I hope the following ones get better.

I thought that the premise of Baghban was more than promising; the songs certainly got me interested; Hema Malini was a plus; and, of course, Amitabh Bachchan is always excellent (here, he ended up being that plus a thousand). Unfortunately, the disturbingly bad script, characters, and situations, made it almost painful to sit through the film. Once again, Bachchan saved a movie as best he (or anyone) could... :) .
