I just bought the K3G dvd, for $35 (can), and the packaging looks exactly the same (and I mean exactly), as the one on the site. But when I played it in 16 x 9 mode, the picture doesn't stretch !!!!!!

also, in one of the screen shots posted, the scene where kareena and hritik are sitting in the restaurant, the subtitles are on top of the picture, and in my version, the subtitles are below !!!

please help???

Someone else emailed about this and when that person asked YRF how to identify if its a original or not (K3G DVD) - they said to check if its got a hologram sticker on

I remember Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya DVD was released twice – second version apparently to combat piracy by sticking one of these hologram stickers on :doze: This is only way the Indian DVD brigade is fighting piracy as if the pirates cant make these hologram stickers :plain: Stupidity is bliss to these people :p

Oh yeh, I came across Lord of the Rings DVD – miraculously squeezed onto a singled layered DVD, with a dual audio track (2.0 and 5.1) plus several language subtitles. For one it beats most Indian DVDs released by Eros and Video Sound – and secondly I seriously think it’s a proper legit DVD because behold :gob: it has a hologram sticker on – a Eros! :nervous: hologram sticker, I kid you not :sneaky:

I totally believe you Ali,

I just came back from Pakistan and could not believe the amount of piracy that goes on there. I did get LOTR DVD (the one your mentioned) and Harry Potter both which had the EROS logo on them. The guy who sold it said EROS is now releasing english DVDs and these are official DVDs. I did argue with him but he did not believe it. I got these for $350 rps which works out to less than $10 cdn.

Hey there Faddy,

I got the discs from Fortress Stadium, Hall Rd. and Hafiz Centre (most expensive). All of these places are selling DVDs, not as much as VCDs but still you can get quite a bit. I got :

Lord Of The Rings ($350 rps multiple subs, W/S)
Harry Potter ($350 rps multiple subs, W/S)
Star Wars 4 - 6 ($200 rps each multiple subs, W/S)
Indiana Jones : The Temple Of Doom (ok quality, english subs, F/S) ($250 rps)
Home Alone 1 - 2 ($150 rps each subs, 16X9 W/S)
The Crow ($150 rps Dimension Rip)
Tumko Na Bhool Payenge (DEI 16x9 Rip) ($350 rps)
Virasat (Super Digital 1st Edition Rip) ($350 rps)
(Indian DVDs are more expensive than english DVDs.)

VCDs:
Blade 2 ($80 rps)
Resident Evil ($80 rps)
Jason X ($80 rps)

Alright everyhting's straightened out....

I went back to the video store, and I told him its a pirate and he kept on denying it and I told him that the picture doesn't stretch, so its not anamorphic, etc.

So he's like take this copy, and he gives me his own disc, and it is the original. We even compared the 2 discs labels side by side, and the pirate one is exactly the same except its soo obvious its been reproduced/photocopied type ish.

He still denies that its a pirate anyway.
