Have been asking Saregama to release some IR CD since they have good vintage collection and finally got one in the name of Rajni!



Has excellent songs from various movies by IR, MSV, ARR and Deva.

poduvaga emmanasu thangam - best opening song of Rajni so far - IR

Oruvan Oruvan mudhalali - arguably the other best opening song of Rajni - ARR

Autokaran - Baasha - one more opening song of Rajni

Just shows that Rajni opening song is always grand and start the stage for the show.

17.01.06 Ilaiyaraaja addresses his fans...

My dear fans

I take this opportunity to thank all of my fans for the support they extended towards project Thiruvasagam.

Now I have come to know that most of the copies of the original audio CDs of Thiruvasagam have been made by my own fans...Enthusiastically, they (might) have copied the audio to propagate my music to other music lovers...

When I came to know this, I was shocked...I was expecting the original CD sales - definitely - to reach a greater peak - than any other album.

Unless the listeners encourage these kinds of projects by buying the original CDs, in future, it could make me think again and again, why I should do this kind of a project... Copying has not been done by piracy people - but by my ever-loving fans, who are ready to sacrifice their lives for me, have done this.

Now I am asking a question - If I do another project - how many of you will buy the original CDs only? Please reply to RaajaNGAHM (mailto:admin@raaja.com) . And, if you promise me through email to RaajaNGAHM (mailto:admin@raaja.com) , that you will buy only the original CDs, I can come up with new ideas...

My new project depends upon the number of emails that carry your promise...

Ilaiyaraaja

Before TIS was released they ran similar statistics and the nos were amazing (about 6000 CD just in USA!!!). If IR believes that the email he will get will be reflected in sales, then he is naive.

Cheran's next movie is with IR. Glad to see them together. I am sure its going to have great melody and going to be a value addition to Cheran's story. I missed IR in Autograph and Thavamai Thavamirundhu and now my dream comes true

Where did you hear this? I hope its true.

I heard it in an interview from Pa Vijay, the lyrists, who said his dream was to write songs for IR composition and he said it came true thru' mayakannadi. Movie will be released in July

Cheran worked with IR in "Desiya Geetham". Songs were good but it floped commercially.

Ramesh, son of noted producer R B Choudhary, is now on a roll. The newly-wed Ramesh has his hands full.

Paired with Priyamani in Madhu, Ramesh has two more films in hand - Nee Venunda Chellam and Madurai Veeran.

Ramesh says,'my next release would be Madhu, which has come good. It has all the trappings to become a hit. Acting with Priyamani was a relishing experience. She taught me few tricks on how to emote before the camera, he says. Directed by Thennarasu, Madhu has Vivek playing the comedian's role.

According to Thennarasu, 'I was fortunate to find a producer like Thanga Sekar, who was impressed by the storyline. Such a support is imperative for a director looking to send across the message in a different way. An entertaining romantic movie is Madhu'.

'You will find Ashish Vidyarthi's character designed in a way sans the usual brand of villainy. The highlight of the movie would be Ilayaraja's musical score', he adds.

Heard the songs. 3 Songs pretty good (lot like 80s songs) and one resembles MX song and another one, melody with out much orchestrization (unusual for IR song). Need to see the movie how music will be the highlight. Among recent releases, Dishyum, Godfather, Pattiyal, Pudhupettai & Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu top the charts!
