Man, I don't know, but, to me, that DVD looks horrible. Is it worse than the original release?

After reviewing both..orig single disc was complete, marginally better PQ too, had genuine extras!!

2 Disc EXTENDED  edition has multiple cutts and those scenes has been added to bonus disc as deleted scenes and has worse of two PQ!

So, if you have FIRST SINGLE DISC? Beware!!

the deleted scenes are not taken from the original cut. They are extended versions if they are similar.

This is a long thread so i may be sharing info here that is previously discussed... apologies in advance.

I have the single disc Shemaroo edition -- it runs 179 minutes ntsc. and has a specially designed case. In its extras, deleted scenes are not featured but from other extras you can make out that some scenes did not make it to the theatrical release or to the Shemaroo single DVD.

BBFC says the movie is about 182 minutes long -- so the first point of difference is that the theatrical movie was 3 minutes longer than the first DVD release... And this was verified when the movie was shown on television -- I caught at least one sequence not present on the single DVD -- when Amitabh and Hema enter the hotel in the last few minutes of the movie where they have a conversation with the hotel manager who offers them free services -- this was on TV but not on the single Shemaroo DVD.

Later Shemaroo brought out a two-disc edition in India with deleted scenes... about this release have no idea....

And of course there are corresponding eros dvd releases abroad...

does anyone know if this was in the theatrical version shown in India? by the way the shemaroo vcd says "full version."

In the rarest of rare cases, TV versions sometimes are more extended than theatrical or DVD versions -- example -- Kevin Costener's Waterworld.

I am searching for the appropriate Pinjar thread to post similar findings on the Eros DVD imported from the U.K. and sold in India.
