What was IR's contribution to Lajja? Did he just do the background score or did he compose any songs?

Listen to the song Kaun Dagar. It's got Ilaiyaraaja written all over it. :)

I saw the promo in SunTV. Richard Gere was playing Violin. KH was playing Gaddam (spelled right) and Jayaraman was playing Miruthangam. What a show

Its all working but u need to change the domain name.

For e.g. if you click India 24 Hours theme, it will open

http://www.raajangham.com/real/bgmscore ... ck01-hs.rm

and fail. you need to change the domain name to

http://www.raaja.com/real/bgmscores/the ... ck01-hs.rm

Yes its painful, but worth the effort, specially since India 24 hours is not available in CD/tape.

Ok Guys - here is a site (reliable but expensive) - http://shrimatis.com/

IMO they have the max # of illayaraja cd's in continental United States and carry some pretty rare stuff. The only downside is that their website is little screwy, I have ordered from them before and I did receive the order (authentic cd's and not dupes or recorded stuff).

Download their catalogue and look for titles you want, there is a good chance they will carry it.

http://shrimatis.com/pdfs/malayalam.pdf
http://shrimatis.com/pdfs/telugu.pdf
http://shrimatis.com/pdfs/kannada.pdf

Enjoy

I placed order for myself today with shrimatis. Have very good and rare collection. Very good people to talk. Immediately shiped the CDs. I would definitely recommend them. The only issue is the price, but I was willing to pay any price for some of IR CDs and I am infact glad that I found.

I am looking for Guru CD in malayalam also. I checked with them and they were out of stock. I found in India Plaza but apparently it is out of stock as well. If anyone has Guru malayalam CD please do let me know. I need it for a critical project. Even open/used that plays in good condition will do. Please do let me know if you have it.

I asked my folks in Coimbatore and Chennai and they are trying but meanwhile if one of you have it and willing to sell, please let me know (need original CD, not MP3, need to send it to few people who is planning on something huge for IR)

There's an EVP DVD. I don't know if it is still available.

I was hoping there was an EVP release!! Time to hunt it down. I wonder when they will update their website. They released bulk collection packs for their telugu dvds. I'm hoping they will do the same for their tamil dvds, on good media this time. :)

DVD_U, I did not find the Guru CD. I went to a store that I've seen advertised as selling Malayalam CDs, but they had a tiny selection. There used to be a couple of stores here where I could buy South Indian tapes and CDs, but they don't sell them anymore.

Do you have any contact in the UAE that could look for the CD?

No. I asked few friends in Coimbatore & Chennai. Right now, even MP3 will do. The one I have is very bad quality. Thanks again for searching around.

I haven't been keeping up with the IR Yahoo groups...

Is the DVD of Maestro in concert released? I seemed to have found an internet bootleg of it. Himalayan DVD? claims to be DD5.1

DU, majority of desi shops in LA don't carry non-hindi/bhangra albums :( and the ones that do carry them, they don't have a clue what they are carrying, including south indian owned shops. when do you need Guru by?
