I've been listening to Varsham for quite some time now. It's a very good album. What other Devi Sri Prasad albums do you recommend? I've also listened to Mayavi (Tamil) and NVNV which I liked, though not as much as Varsham.

I read that his Tamil tunes in Sachien were remakes of his Telugu songs and this got the producers into trouble. I hope it won't keep him out of Tamil films in the future.

BTW, today I saw the picturization of Mannile (Mellaga) from Mazhai, the Tamil remake of Varsham, and it is pretty bad though Shriya dancing in the rain makes up for it

"Ee varsham sakshiga" became "I love you Sailaja." I don't know what the Telugu line means, but it sounds better than the latter.

Ee Varsham Sakshiga = This Rain as Witness........

I recommend all of his albums Mayavi also has few dubbed songs. Listen to his earlier albums like Anandam, Kalusukovalani (will you break this down for us? )

I was watching Varsham songs in SunTV today and suddenly it struck me. It is a rehashed version of "Pournami neram, paalaiyil oruthi" from paalaivana cholai. Charanam is different but pallavi is ditto! I guess its "inpiration" from IR.

This is from one of his first albums.
It's short but sweet. There is a female version, which is a tad bit different. Female version has male humming in the background. I love them both.

I'll post the female version if you want me to. I'll try to post one or two songs from each of his albums. I'll be picking up Anandam CD if I can find it while I'm in India. Couldn't find it here? I haven't heard his very first album "Devi" either.

I liked that song. Will check out the rest of the album. Its too bad his Tamil work so far is mostly forgettable.
