Suyra indeed is pretty good now a days. Much better than high noise Vijay, no noise Ajith. I wish Surya and Vikram rules for next decade. I am tired of seenig vijay with his non-sense, no reflection, face and Ajith.... who cares.

True. But Vijay is unfazed...he's stll making the same old...even remaking flop films like Badra or something.

He is remaking 'Athanokkade' Which is a hit. Simbu is remaking 'Bhadra' which by the way is also a hit

By the way both released at the same time

Its really funny. Telugu people are watching Tamil remake (Anniyan, Chandramukhi, Virumandi, Mumbai Xpress to name a few) and Tamil people are watching Telugu remakes.

BTW the recent No Entry is a tamil movie - Manasukkul Maththapoo, and in Telugu I believe it is Pellaam Oorilithae or something. Now they are remaking Waqt (starring Mamooty and ofcourse Remake Ravi).

I dont mind Tamil or Telugu people remake any movie, as long as they stay away from Bunty N Bubli.

This remaking trend is just getting out of hand...

only malayalam films seem to be original these days...since mallus watch movies from tamil (so indirectly telugu), hindi etc while no one watches mallu films.

ghajini - couldn't watch it today here because of some prob with print... :(

Gajini Review from Cinesouth:

Gajini

Three years after he made 'Ramana,' director Murugadoss has made 'Gajini.' His following film may be late, but it has all the latest in it.

Surya is a very prominent business man, but he cannot remember anything for more than 15 minutes. So as not to forget, he has a few photos with him and he kills some of these people. Because Surya seems to be afflicted by a strange ailment, medical student Nayantara keeps him under observation.

On knowing that Surya's next target is Pradeep, Nayantara warns him. With his henchmen, Pradeep arrives and after bashing up Surya soundly, he destroys all the photos and other things Surya has with him to jog his memory. Only after that does Nayantara come to realize that it was Pradeep who had killed Surya's sweetheart Asin, and hit him on the head, resulting in Surya's loss of memory. The rest of the story is how Nayantara helps Surya to kill Pradeep.

The strength of the story lies in the 15 minute only memory strain that Murugadoss has zeroed in on. This has helped to close the gaps in the narrative that are otherwise seen here and there. A rich man like Surya hunting street to street for the villain, the villain's attempt to mass kidnap an unwilling bunch of women in a train, entering a ladies hostel easily to shoot and shame them, when Nayantara takes Surya to Pradeep's factory filled with his henchmen in order to kill him are only some of the logic defying situations. But the flashback has been divided into three sequences in the screenplay, so when one sees the Surya-Asin romance on one track and the attack on them in another, one gets quite involved in the film.

Surya has given a fantastic portrayal of an extremely wealthy man in his walk, talk and mannerisms. When a bald headed Surya goes thirsting for revenge with murder in his eyes, he makes us sit up and take notice. It is against logic that even after their romance is written about in 'Kungumam' weekly, Asin has not seen Surya's photo. But if you are willing to overlook that, the Asin-Surya romance is rather poetic.

Asin is quite engaging as a naughty girl. She even asks the industrialist Surya to act as himself! Even after you leave the theatre, one cannot forget the scene where Suya and Asin are attacked. They definitely deserve accolades for that particular scene.

Nayantara seems to be putting on 5 kgs of weight with every film she does. Is this the Nayantara we saw in 'Chandramukhi'? Even her youth is missing. Riaz Khan appears in a few scenes as a police officer.

Background score by Harris Jayaraj is fabulous. 'Suttum vizhi' and 'Oru maalai' are definite hits. R T Rajasekar's camera work gives good pace to the film.

Rajini is quite watchable.
