"Mangal Mangal.." is easily one of the three best songs to have come out this entire year (the other two songs that I have in mind are also composed by Rahman). And it's only two-and-a-half-fucking-mintues-long, so stop complaining!

Sales of Rising is very dull. Its better than Bose, but not even close to Yuva or Swades.

What ??,that does not sound right - i love this album and my order is coming to you right now ....

The Title Song (Mangal Mangal - cant seem to get it out of my head) is so situational I love it , it has 3 incarnations probably placed at 3 pivotal points in the plot - you got to love films that have a precise geometrical structure (esp. a triangle which is the least entropic of all) , though i have to admit i am slightly disappointed at the 'kisna' guy being involved in this

I totally agree!! This soundtrack will serve very well to screen play, if? screen play is GOOD?
I just read the guy who did Kisna screen play was hired? IMHO, Kisna was terrible!

yeah, the guy who wrote Kisna wrote Mangal Pandey. i just hope that it was Subhash Ghai that screwed up that film and not the writer, or else we're in for a majestic piece of crap.

I wish so too!! I hope it was defective/screwed up director's vision, instead of screen play!

Film is heading Locarno, on August 3rd..so Keep your fingers twisted!

I think Tyrewala might have been better! If they could not affrd the best!

My concerns are Amisha?? But I think after Aish did not do that role it was further scissored! and if Amisha is kept out of her phony self, she might work.

Rani as Enchantress!! My God! Where is Madhuri Dixit gone!

Now the Screen play/Story!!

We will have to see! :!:

Will you post some more Locarno photos this year?

DVDU, I watched the Aa Aah promo and the music in it doesn't sound different from New, which I didn't like. I hope this album will turn out better.

More than Aa Aah, I am expecting "Zil Yendra Kaatril" because the name sound very refreshing. Also ARR is ona world tour and will be leaving this week to Canada for LOTR premier show, so he wont do any more indian movie for another few months!

Anbe Aaruyirae Songs...

Good to see SPB voice, still melting. Varugirai song is a good melody. Other songs are okay/below avg. Surprisingly MKSM beats used in one of the songs. Lot of similarities with his earlier songs.

http://www.prdomain.com/articles_general/pr_mujra.htm

Mujra, originally all fast turns and rhythmic footwork, dumped itself down to a tease-art, to pleasure first the Hindu kings and then the Mughal court. When feudal patronage became unreliable with the British rule, mujrawalis, hailing mostly from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, took to the cities like Banaras, Allahabad, and Bombay.

The website for the film http://www.risingthefilm.com is up and running. Looks like there will be a premiere in London on the 9th of August.

So does anybody know anything about the upcoming premeire. I will have to use all the resources I can to be at that premiere

While nothing official has been said , the London premier of Ketan Mehta's much awaited Amir-Rani-Amisha starrer 'Mangal Pandey' (next month ) looks doubtful . According to our sources , in the wake of the recent cowardly and deploreable acts of terrorism in UK , the agencies that were to provide security to the host of VIP's (expected at the premier) have expressed their inability to do so .While the organiser are tight lipped about the development for now we can only wait and watch .
