Deepa Mehta´s ´Water´ Is Complete , To Release In November

Deepa Mehta has completed the shooting of her new film ´Water´, which had gone on the floors in 2000 at Varanasi but could not progress due to attacks on the unit by the fundamentalists . The film is now complete and is scheduled to release in November .


´Water´ has been shot in Sri Lanka and even the star cast has been changed . Shabana Azmi has been replaced by Seema Biswas , Lisa Ray has come in place of Nandita Das and John Abraham has stepped into the role which was to have been done by Akshay Kumar . A.R. Rahman has provided the musical score for the film and the distribution rights have been given to Ajay Virwani .

Whether the film will be released in India or not will be known only after the decision of CBFC and the reactions of the fundamentalists but Deepa is happy that she has finally completed her trilogy , after making ´Fire´ and ´Earth´ years ago .
