Audio Released. 6 songs. Unlike usual ayngaran CD, this one doesnt have any additional movies/songs and the wholesale price increased.

I guess they are trying to use Rajini's name, but hey Rajini's CD dont sell well (and his DVDs also). If it is AR or IR you can expect some sales, not Vidyasagar.

2 Songs are typical Rajini songs and I am glad SPB is back for Rajini.

Just Curious, How are the songs overall ? . Ranjini movies are always FUN - I am looking forward to this one (I actually liked BaBa - not sure what people expected from him though!). The only sour point is the director ( P.Vasu right ?) - I personally think he has no business making movies !

Chandramukhi Vs Nagavalli!
By Moviebuzz
Friday, 25 February , 2005, 11:26

Everyone knows that Chandramukhi is a frame to frame remake of that Kannada blockbuster Aapthamitra. The director of both the films is P.Vasu but the producers are different.

Now Dwarakish, the Kannada producer has a score to settle with P.Vasu, as he was not paid the promised 50 percent of the share for the Tamil remake. Though the story rights belonged to Vasu, it was customary to pay an amount to Dwarakish.

So Dwarakish is doing a smart thing by dubbing and releasing Aapthamitra into Telugu as Nagavalli before the Tamil release! Now Vasu has to move his cards well as Nagavalli can destroy all chances of Rajnikanth’s Chandramukhi’s box-office collections in Andhra.

He is also promoting Nagavalli as late Soundarya’s last film as in rural areas she has a huge fan following. But what will hurt Vasu most is that the Chandramukhi climax which is the highlight of the film will be revealed if Nagavalli releases first.

Meanwhile Mohan Babu, the hatchet man for Rajnikanth in Hyderabad has promised all support to Chandramukhi in its battle with Nagavalli.

I know its going to affect my sales, but I have to be honest. I am disappointed. May be over time it will grow on to me.

I guess Rajini asked Vidyasagar to score music like IR/Deva, so he picked couple of tunes from IR and couple from Deva.

Asha's song is melody but she is old, that you can clearly see from the tone.

Also, this CD is released by AP International in USA, instead of Ayngaran (the distributors are doing this). The CD doesnt come with any combo and is not worth buying.

We will get Ayngaran CD directly from ayngaran next week, this has 6 combinations, so atleast for combo you can buy them.

After listening 3 to 4 times, it doesnt sound bad. I guess Rajini is going to act as a Telugu speaking guy in the movie, because he talks in Telugu in the middle of the songs and 2 songs starts like Telugu song (Devuda Devuda - title song and Raa Raa)

Also once you see the movie, you will like the songs better.

BTW news for you guys. Kamal's next movie is with Gautam and expected for Pongal and Rajini's next movie is for Kavithaalaya - Charan direction, and also expected for Pongal. Good to have Kamal Rajini movies coming to gether after long time.

The movie has been released as "Manichitrathazu" in Malayalam with Mohanlal in the lead role. It was a good flick. I don't know if the Malayalam one was the original or the Kannada one. Obviously the Telugu one was remade as "Nagavalli." Either way it was a great movie with great production design. The film dealt with the supernatural and had one of the most haunting musical scores and music I could think of. It really gave the feeling of ghostly loneliness.

Rediff Article on the music release

http://specials.rediff.com/movies/2005/mar/07sld1.htm

I listened to it and I think its not worth much ( oddly one of the songs remind me of the Villain soundtrack also done by VidyaSagar, i need to check it again though ).

But I guess seeing Thalivar on-screen with the song in the background will do it for me ;)
