Personally I am not looking forward to the Devdas film and will give it a miss dispite it being directed by the excellent Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I do know the soundtrack of this film by Ismail Darbar is something to look forward too!

However Sanjay Gupta's Kaante is a film I am dying for - the Big B in America blowing shit up sounds good to me :) as an action buff! But I've got a feeling that this film will be another flop for Sanjay Gupta, who has yet to diliver one single blockbuster hit dispite some excellent flicks like Aatish, Ram Shastra & Hameshaa!

Personally I fail to understand why anyone would look forward to a Sanjay Gupta directed film (Kaante). I mean come on, the guy has yet to make an even half decent film. He is a bad director with a lot of good connections in the industry.

Autosh Gowiker was a flop director before Lagaan.
Besides, can you look at the trailors for Kaante and not admit that the movie looks absolutely awesome?

Devdas should have been out quite some time back.. considering that its been over 3.5 years now since its inception.

I am lookin forward to it, Bhansali is an excellent director. But I have gotta admit that Madhuri does look crap in the previews. She has just gotta give up now.

And Kaante, yeah I hope it kicks some serious butt. AB mah man. :)

Looks like theres quite few Amitabh fans about in this post*

Has anyone caught the new 'Aankhen' trailer, the one that
revolves around Amitabh with him beating up this guy -
with the Soliloqi playing in the background!

Also check out this hilarious Amitabh quiz.

There is a huge difference between Sanjay Gupta and Ashutosh Gowarikar. For one, Sanjay has had the best of resources available to make his films whereas Ashustosh has only made small budget movies in the past, Lagaan was his first film with an 'A' setup. Secondly Ashutosh has only made two films before Lagaan, whereas Sanjay Gupta has made atleast 10 films, each one worse than the other. Thirdly Ashutosh has only made films with original plots, whereas every film (except Hamesha) of Sanjay has been a very poor copy of a Holywoood film.
Anyhow my post was not referring to the success of Sanjay's films but rather the poor quality of films he directs. Although the fact is that he has yet to make a succesfull film. Kaante for all I care may go on to be a success (would be a first for him) but I seriously doubt it will be a good film. I for one have absolutely no faith in his directorial abilities.
Regarding the hype created for Kaante by the publicity and/or its trailors, most films of Sanjay are that way. Prerelease hype created by slickly produced trailers and promotional material before release have always been good for all Sanjay films, but the final product has always been shoddy and poor.

im not too sure about ashutosh making original plots!! The movie Baazi was a rip of from every single Hollywood flick, ranging from patriot games to die hard!! As for kaante being shite.. i very much doubt it (Me is hoping ???) Kaante has had a very different response to production unlike many other movies and will definately be in a class of its own!! Lets look forward to June 6th.....

The only soul what-so-ever in the technical team of KAANTE is Anurag Kashyap. He is writing the film's screenplay and dialogues. What I still fail to understand is why go for an International Relase with this film, when it is openly claimed to be a remake/inspiration of Quentin Tarontino's Reservoir Dogs? This is a bad way to represent Bollywood on the international scale. A film like Kaante should just be targeted for Bollywood fans around the world.

I never actually liked Autosh's earlier films. I had no clue as to how great Lagaan would be. In fact, I only started looking forward to it after hearing it was produced by Aamir Khan (and listening to the excellent music).

However, I did like Sanjay Gupta's earlier Hameshaa. That was a good film.

Additionally, I'm sure many are looking forward to it based on the fact that the whole movie takes place in America.
