I saw the YRF Dhoom DVD last night.

Very entertaining movie with actions scenes copied from three different American movies.

PQ was very good with vibrant colors and high speed and action scenes didn't have artifacts problems!!

Some negatives things...

1) DVD layer change occurs at the wrong time!! How can you have the DVD change layers and pause the movie during the best song in the whole movie.. The Dhoom song!!!

2) The volume level on the DVD is so strange... The action and music scenes are recorded at high volume while the rest of the movie is recorded at low volume.. (Seems to be a typical Parsad Digital authoring here, Lakshya was the same!!).

Other than that a DVD worth spending 2hrs and 3 minutes watching!!

Very good chances for Allan Amin to win all kinds of crappy awards (Screen/Filmfare/Zee Cine etc. etc.) for Best Action of 2004.

The Dhoom 2: Audio DVD actually has a DTS soundtrack which makes we hope that when the DVD releases it will also have the same. The theatrical trailer on this audio dvd is also in DTS!

The French Dhoom DVD has the same sort of transfer as other Bodega releases like Hum Tum, KHNH etc. - proper PAL video but bad, murky colour rendition. The DTS track, as always, is just a re-encode of the Dolby 5.1 audio and not from the original elements.
