I hope they'll release it in The Netherlands too, but I don't think so. They never release an Indian film widely here.

What the hell! Naveen Andrews from Kama Sutra? They should never have cast him in a film like this. He doesn't deserve it

I think Aish has a kissing scene with the gora in this film, with Gurinder Chadha continuing her tradition of an inter-racial kiss scene in her films. I wonder how Indian audiences will react to this?

i read somewhere i think its planet bollywood that took an interview with chada and said there is no kissing and sex in the movie because she didnt want her mother to be dissapointed

Thumbs down for Balle Balle

After scoring good music in Murder, Main Hoon Na and Fida, one expected Anu Malik to save his best for his international debut, Balle Balle! Amritsar To LA, the Hindi version of Gurinder Chadha's Bride And Prejudice.

The film is being called a musical, but the worst part about it is its music!

The title song Balle Balle has a racy start and begins well. But halfway through, it slows down.

You wonder whether it is a Punjabi song or a typical Bollywood number, with Sonu Nigam and Gayatri Iyer pitching in with Punjabi lyrics.

Tumse kahen ya, hum na kahen is a slow number, and much better. The problem is, you may not recollect the song after listening to it.

It's just not catchy enough. The sad version of the song is good, but again, it suffers from the same problem.

But this is the best song in the album, as far as lyrics (by Javed Akhtar) are concerned.





No life without wife is a peppy and youthful song. It arises from a situation about what kind of a man or woman would need a spouse to settle down. It is passable.

Payal bajake, sung by Gayatri Iyer and written by Dev Kohli and Gurinder's husband Paul Mayeda Berges, is not worth a mention.

Lo shaadi aayi is sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Anu Malik, Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan and Gayatri Iyer. I wonder why there is bhangra, interspersed with slow and fast tunes. It seems to be a mix of everything.

Dola dola is a Navratri song, but the music is too loud. The lyrics are simply Barse sawan, aaja sajan. Why was this song made? And why, among all, did Anu Malik write the lyrics for this song?

Overall, the music of Balle Balle! Amritsar to LA disappoints.


..imho, anu malik, downgraded the film from international standard to tapori bollywood standard!

Verdict: AVOID!

The buzz on 'Bride & Prejudice'!

A large section of the overseas press may have brutally ripped apart Gurinder Chadha's 'Bride & Prejudice', nevertheless, there is curiosity in India to see what Chadha has done with 'B&P' (rechristened 'Balle Balle Amristar to L.A.'). Those who saw the movie some days back found it strictly ordinary and added that it was nothing to rave about. Yet some others said it was 'fun'. We'll decide for ourselves once the film hits the theatres on October 8!

Martin Henderson vs Naveen Andrews: Whoever wins.....we lose.

I get to see it tonight if I can find the cinema Got sent two tickets for a screening nearby. Been getting average reviews from people already seen it.

Is this film being released in North America?? I see no mention of this film in the upcoming movies listings. I don't see it in forthcoming films at our desi Albion Woodside either.

After the success of BILB, I would have expected a full North American release. But, I don't see any signs.

It's worth noting that BILB was released in North American theatres, a Year or so after the British release.

Bride and Prejudice is scheduled to release on Dec. 24th in the U.S.

i will be watching the movie (english version) next week since the videostore owner knows where to get pirated gora movies, sadly there prints are better then most of the original hindi dvds

Aish doesn't kiss but Gurinder Chadha herself has todo it at the end rolling outtake credits

Bride And Prejudice team seems to have fooled every one, including Aish, by projecting it to be a HOLLYWOOD FILM. It's not. I guess, it's a British film??.

I told you rana and others, it will bite the dust! as Chadha tried to make mockery of Internation level film..
