i tried watching this movie and i have to say it is one of the most cringeworthy movies ever made..... the acting is just sooo gay... i mean how many of us start doing the phangra when we start talking about "saade punjab dee makee roti thay saron da saag!"
Dont know why Harbajan Mann is even considered an actor, hes pathetic... Gurdaas Maan is still the greatest punjabi actor along with Meher Mithal!!

I didn't like it either. There really isn't even a story here. It just feels like a 3 hr speech on how great punjab is, well at least thats how I feel. I had to skip thru most of the movie. Acting is not that great, only one or 2 actors do a decent job. I didn't like "jee aayan nu" either. Harbhajan Mann is a great singer, but should stay away from acting, imo. I didn't think the music was that great either, only liked 2 songs. I enjoy his single albums better.

I prefer punjabi films like shaheed-e-mohabbat, chan pardesi, ucha dar babe nanak da, etc. over this stuff. Hopefully gurdas mann's forthcoming film "des hoya pardes" will be good.

I have not watched the movie yet but the older crowd seems to really like this movie, I also mean the older crowd in living abroad out of their watan.

Just curious the people who didnt like this flick what is your age roughly? If young, maybe that why you couldnt relate to the story :? I will try watching it soon...btw I am 28.

yaar i'm 21. Its not that I couldn't relate to the movie, its just doesn't feel like a movie. The first half is just preaching about punjabi "virsa", and a lot bad acting on top of that. The conflict comes towards the end of the movie, and its not done well, imo, plus you have the horrible ending, which is totally out of place, imo. I guess I was expecting this movie to be a little more serious and more intelligent. the tagline of the movie was something like "how immigrants are not welcomed to their motherland", but in the movie, that just feels like the backdrop.

I can see why the older generation like the movie, because it sends a message out to the younger generation about our culture, and I like that aspect of the story. But, I didn't like the movie because of the technical reasons. it's a weak script, too many loopholes, plus bad direction, bad acting, no character develepment, below average music, u name it. I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, or else I would go through it scene by scene.

Have you watched the movie yet?

Can you explain in your words/viewpoint if you
think the film is tedious? I'm sure you know
what to do.

My initial opinion of the film has been revised
after seeing the second half which was omitted on
my first review. The film merits some good qualities.

Wonder if you have any dvd covers available
@ bollynavels site along with all inserts?

Nope still have not watched it, my parents did and really liked it.

DVD Covers at my site ... users have uploaded quite a bit but no covers for ANMWD sorry :(
