India´s First Live Action-Animation Film Is Ready For Release

After three years of painstaking work , India´s first live action-cum-animation film , ´Bhagmati-The Queen of Fortunes´ is ready for release .

About the film , director Ashok Kaul says , "It has taken my team a lot of hard work to complete this film . There was no use of foreign expertise and we had to do our own R&D . Though there have been films like ´Who Framed Roger Rabbit?´ and ´Spacejam´ where both live and animated characters were used together , ´Bhagmati- The Queen of Fortunes´ is different . The animation here has been used as a form of narration to unleash the story . The stars of my film are the animated characters ."

The 35-crore film was made by Kaul and his team of 120 animators from Zee Institute of Creative arts .

´Bhagmati-The Queen of Fortunes´ also starring Tabu , Milind Soman and Hema Malini is three hours long , 90 minutes of which is pure animtion . Kaul shot both the parts simultaneously . Vishal Bhardwaj has composed the music .
